I was at this concert and paid $50 to sit on the stage next to him. I was 19 and was in the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago at the time. $50 was an incredible sum of money for a college student then. This concert changed my life. What this man did with the piano blew my mind. I remember riding the L afterwards to my studio apartment and thinking to myself, "You are looking at getting into the wrong business!" That turned out to be true. This man was not from the same planet as me.

Thank you for this long awaited gem. I suppose that CBS owns the entire filmed version of this recital (or that of November 13) for they were filming Horowitz Chicago recital for their "60 minutes" show. The reason of my assessment here is that the TV crew could possibly not record only that particualr portion of Liszt Sonata throughout the recital - they did rather record entire first half of the recital to say it in the least.
