I'm so sorry this happened. It was definitely separation (been there, done that myself). Your end bar looked fine, however hot processing your separated batter will bring it back together and assure a safe and enjoyable bar of soap. Yes, misbehaving fragrances are great for hot process soap because you put them in at the end of the cook when it's soap. Kudos for staying so calm during the process!!!!

when i added my fragrance my batch immediately seized. so thick. i got out my hand mixer and whipped for a bit and it turned in lose ricing like what u have. went back to emulsion blender and got it smooth so i hurried and pours it but still have ricing. still turned out fine. think the whipping made the difference. when i pulled it out of mold i just absorbed oils with paper towels. still smells great and it been curing a week now. looking good

I was a mess, didn't know what to do so I just put it all in the mixing bowl and blended and blended till it was a thick mass and I couldn't blend anymore 😭. Then just dumped into the mold and hoped for the best. It did take longer than usual, but it was all good. Your coffee bars look good 👍🏻 good job on the save. Have a lovely day Dear 💕 take care ✨

Do you always put the fragrance oil in at the beginning? Especially with a new fragrance, I have learned to add the fragrance as the very last thing I put Into my batter. You will see many soapers doing this for the very reason that you experienced.

First of all..applause 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻for being so calm. Secondly you managed it well. If you don’t mind I would like to suggest.. next time if anything happens like this straight away transfer to the crockpot and do HP. And that soap will be a best bar than the end product we get from continuing with the struggle of CP. please try it. Keep this FO for HP soaps . You won’t regret. Actually I wanted you to try blending it for a while before pouring into the mold to know whether it can be solved or not. I had extreme acceleration experiences....not ricing and separation. But once in one batch it started to behave like in your batter but I continued blending. Then it was normal and no other issues happened. So I was curious to know if you continue blending ...don’t know...not sure ..anyway it’s a pain to watch. Well done and saved your batch👌Thanks for sharing your experience 🌹💖

Thank you for coming to visit me and leaving me such a great comment! You are so wonderful💕 I actually did try to keep stick blending it in the mold for just a minute, but it kept clogging the blade because every time i stick blended, the batter got very thick and would get stuck in the bell of the blender, so I gave that up quickly.
@yellowrosehomemadesoaps
@yellowrosehomemadesoaps 3 жыл бұрын
oh ok. Then it would be a problem. For me it worked out so thought of informing you. Yes we cannot take risk with blender But you nicely used hand whisk and see how it looked like HP soap. Final bar is ok . It's a good bar. Well done.
@wisedove7
@wisedove7 11 ай бұрын
I agree with YellowRose. If it's not getting smoother with blending, get it in the slow cooker and HP it. Also...a tip that can help with acceleration; bring your batch to just full emulsion BEFORE adding the fragrance. Then...hand whisk the fragrance in and be ready to pour. One more thing: the oil separation was likely not just the fragrance, but a combo of your batch oils. Dont ask me how I know these things! 😂 Good luck!

Sorry to interrupt i am new to soap making how was that hot processing? i once had a separation due to high heat no FO was added but i had gel phase first then separated so i HP it then. But in this case there was ricing all the way without the presence of heating to serve the hot process!!! I am genuinely asking just trying to understand the situation. Thnx

I know that if their acceleration says Moderate, it means it will seize with my recipe. Since their testing recipe has a lot of (75%) of fluid oils. I am glad you got it in the mold quickly!
