He literally has a whole ballad that begins, “My heart fills up with happiness every time I see a mighty castle attacked.” He then goes on to describe, in gory detail, the siege of a castle, making sure to point out the amount of death and dead bodies, falling walls, screams, and horses.

Bertran de Born was a satirist, he was mocking the political figures and hypocricy of those involved in the crusades. A modern analogy would be Stephen Colbert. Snark and sarcasm are eternal and a number of the troubadours practiced it as an art form.
