So for Web Warriors I never built up Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man or Spider Punk and I'm currently in the process of finishing making Death Seed Gear Tier 15 to be able to do the War this for Apocalypse. I just moved and I have to move again so my money is tied up. I can't just drop stacks on raising up these toons of no where. Whereas the toons I had from the previous Scourges are all set and ready to go to try to 7 star the Horsemen, but after seeing this maybe not now. 😮‍💨

Star ranks don't actually matter you just need to have them, gear tier them up to the appropriate stage really. Some of the fights may be a bit more challenging, but broadly no you don't need 7-star.

The leaderboard was perhaps TOO player friendly actually? I understand the arguments about top 1000 people or whatever getting high rewards each run, but that was the way they designed it in the first place.

The problem aren't teams. The problem is the point limit to obtain the fragments. For example in my case: last year I had category 13/14 and I was able to obtain fragments of the horseman by doing level 4. I now have 6 stars in all the horseman (except morgan with 5) and I never got beyond 500,000 points, thanks to the repetition of scourges. Now the limit is 1 million. My characters' category is now 15. As things stand, I could get 6 star in two years.

What if they let you collect the milestone rewards each time? If that happens, then it would essentially work like it does now. It would let everyone eventually earn 7 stars as long as you could hit the first milestone.

I think they're working to establish heirarchy of their content. They need to create scarcity to continue to drive purchases. These teams, are all marginally accessible at this point. Everyone who's played consistently since their introduction has been "rewarded" and all entrants AFTER shouldn't be expected to have the same experience. As an iterative live game this is common in them all contextually. I personally think it was too easy to casually obtain and upgrade the "Legendary" horsemen and I think this is something they're trying to tweak. Keep in mind, they're obviously at some point going to render all these horseman teams ineffective in the future.

@@doriangray6985 we knew this when they segmented the Legendary areas into horseman and non horseman sections. But the remaining parts of these teams utilities drop significantly after big boy apocalypse. And there will likely be another iteration of Dark Dimension. As well as another iteration of a big scourge scavenger hunt. My point here is to bank on the certainty of change and the fact that most the changes are rooted in profitability before equity and parity.

@@kjdoomjr Right. And that sucks. As further iterations occur, the time and effort required to work through previous iterations should diminish. As you correctly note, these teams will become ineffective eventually. So a new player should be able to get them more easily than at release because their remaining value diminishes with each passing day.

I think it's more like a white whale thing where players that "missed the boat" so to speak have more to choose from during their introduction to the game. I don't think they should have to feel pressured to "catch up " and that raises the value of the content creators covering the game and the discussion about what the producers are doing. I think the devs are intentionally trying to balance what they are offering it may not always be well executed but this game is honestly elite compared to similar titles.

They should rework milestones to give gear appropriate to levels. Like 95 players it should give us g18s and below. 90 g17s and below. 85 g16s and below. 80 g15s and below. Something like that.

Thank you thank you thank you. New player (4 months) got crucified on Reddit for suggesting that it was a bit unfair to have to use WW as the node 5 & 10 teams. I was downvoted for filth, told I'm idiotic, and then told that WW is a great team for new players to build since they're still good in Doom raids.

I was opening red star orbs Managed a 4 star for beta ray bill and got enough for a 4 redstar orb pulled a another red star Beta got enough for a 5 star rd star orb and then pulled a 7 star beta. I remember the same thing happened for omega red. Games here's a 7 red star your ways off from being able to make use of.

Considering they just lowered the requirements to get legendary characters like Maw and Jubilee, I'm hoping they'll do the same for the Horseman scourges. I've been stuck at 45 shards for Morgan for months and am only 5 away from unlocking Rogue

They already lowered unlock requirements for scourges, that was what the 3-star is. I don't see this changing any further.

Make sure you push as much as you can on this last run, because you'll get more shards than when it comes back permanent.

Not counting leaderboard, 100 unlock was at 500k. That's where I expect the first Milestone to be. 80 shards at 750k for 4ys 130 at 1mil for 5ys 200 at 1.2mil for 6ys 300 at 1.5 mil for 7ys Just my prediction, glad I have 7ys bc I never got 1.5 on Pest ir Famine. My questions, 1) will there be gear and other things in the Milestones. 2) will ppl who already have 7ys be able to do the new system (assuming there's gear)

As far as the latter. I almost want to say no there will just be shards. Otherwise it will be un fair if other people can't run the event after getting 7-star, which would make sense because old legendaries you cant do once you get the shards.

So I understand the frustration for newer players not wanting to build obsolete teams to obtain premier characters. But those premier characters won't be useful much longer the way things are going. In short, I wouldn't sweat older characters... focus on new ones and if you get the older ones great

This is how I have always played the game, even on the few alt accounts I have done. It's always better to focus on what's in front of you and that is my mantra more broadly. That being said, I hope it's not a fkin chore to at least 3-star unlock them when the event changes.

They changed it because there aren't enough players w/o MLF to continue with the current system. If there are only 1000 ppl w/o MLF then everyone would get a 7 star automatically making them not make money anymore. I would assume the milestones reset every time so it would basically be the same thing w/o free 7 stars

This is the worst change, you could get basis just running the campaign at lower stages. Now as starting player you need 450K, but for runs like Red-Hulk it's just insane -_- Node 3... Just idk wth to do...

I am guessing it will be based on difficulty. difficulty 1 - one star. Difficulty 7 - 7 stars. With maybe lower difficulty/better tags. I doesn't make sense that they would make it harder now. + there have been enough 'good' changes for me to give them benefit of the doubt. But then again it is Scopely.

I don't think that's the case when the difficulties scale up to 10, unless they are literally chopping them all off. Difficulty 3 was never enough to score 3-star anyways so I would be really shocked. If that's the case I would be more than willing to do a video reversal and praise the new system (because diff 3 is very low)

@@Boilon The way I understood it, they will have only 7 milestones with permanent progress. I don't think it would be reasonable to expect people to finish difficulty 10 for 7* going forward. It seems like it is going to be previous Legendary system, witch just a bunch of nodes instead of one battle. And difficulty 7 needs what, g15-16 (I think I cleared it on something, not sure), which I imagine they see as reasonable even for old teams, because we are on g18, so g16 is 'not a big deal'. I am personally struggling with g14 though XD

I swear you all complain about everything. We don't even know the thrash hold and you are already complaining about the unlock requirements. Second kree is required to unlock Fury. Pym tech/kree is required for Gamma raids, etc. There are several teams that are not in the meta required to unlock campaign nodes, pass raid content, and unlock yellow stars.

Kree Minions are required to unlock Fury, they also gave this away in droves during the Invaders event. Complaining about complaining seems to be pretty meta though.

@Boilon That was because of the rework to Fury. Most free to play still have to grind campaign for three out of the 5 characters to get Fury to yellow. I am not complaining. I am stating facts. You are complaining about the change to the horseman unlock when you don't even have all of the information yet on the changes. That is my point. Besides, you have made it very clear for new players not to invest resources into horsemen because new teams should be the priority since they will fall out of the meta.

I don’t think requiring newer players to build certain beginner teams, such as web warriors, to a certain level is a bad thing. It helps build a path for true roster building, and not just chasing after every shit event scopely put out so you can have a 5 star on every new character. Obviously the newest teams are the best. But if you’re on a two month old account, you’re not supposed to have the best stuff! It’s a lot like swgoh and the legendary characters. I’m personally a fan. It makes solid boundaries for the early, mid, and end game portions of the game which this games severely needs. Also encourages slowing down and actually enjoying the GAME that we all play. Just my thoughts

2-month old accounts will have a pretty good ability to unlock newer characters, esp ones that are 45-shards. I have made multiple alt accounts and I can guarantee you my strategy is the same ALWAYS, never focusing on old characters beyond 1-year unless completely necessary, and this ain't it.

@@Boilon yes I agree with you, however if the game is to stay alive they are going to have to continue to open up game modes and characters and eventually it will take more than just the “new shiny toys” to have a roster to be in a good guild, do better in events, etc. The whole point of the game is to grind there’s no need for someone to be able to unlock horseman characters two months into their account? You’re supposed to be wasting resources at the beginning that’s how these games work?? The majority of the game base does not play the game the same way that competitive players and content creators play. This gives them clear goals to work towards while not completely setting you back. A GT15 web warriors clears much of the content in the game in the first 6 months to a year. That’s not a waste, it’s a stepping stone.

They are irrelevant, even for new players. They will add no value to anything except being able to get Morgan. It's a waste of Bio gear which is needed for Rebirth and Gamma, and it's a waste of Mystic gear which is always needed for many meta characters. In what universe is Web Warriors used in war? Dak Hunters has one specific use and it's not essential.

Ya is very relevant in war and if you aforce isn't built u taking a loss on them or somewhere else bc they command a meta war offense team. Unless you're spending money gamma not farmable rebirth not farmable etc. And if you want those teams and are willing to spend it's cheaper to buy a 30 mil account for 3 or 4 hundred than buy the offers for the non farmable toons. If I had it my way higher lvl raids wouldn't even be accecsable to new people or mid game until the 100% all other lower raids 5x each level. This is why ppl are low on gear they trying to skip over shit that took engramers years to build up. And probably why higher end rewards have purple and blue gear t3 t2 mats in them. People need to play at their level or spend the money to play at the top.

Lots of discussion here but all I'm going to say is if you think Web Warriors and A-Force are worth building you're in la la land. It has nothing to do with whether you are doing incursion raid. Why would you kneecap yourself building older teams? Resources are not unlimited.
