Yeah Slice Of Cherry is YA, I read it many years ago and don't really remember. Might pick that up again, it has such a pretty cover

I'm reading the very last of the African Immortals trilogy by Tananarive Due. She is such a hidden gem in horror literature. Love her! And I bought The Murders of Molly Southbourne while watching this ☺

Don’t feel bad Jordaline, in regards to White is For Witching, I READ the damn thing, and cannot for the life of me give a better description of it than you did 😂. But Goodreads tells me I loved it apparently so 🤷♀️

This was a good list! The ones I've read were all amazing. Heads up to anyone looking for these, many of them are on Hoopla! Currently listening to The Good House rn on there and I saw many of these titles browsing the horror section.

It always takes me forever to watch your videos, because I at each book (the ones I don't already have) and go to the Kindle store, where I either buy the book, pre order it, add it to a wish list, or add it to my Kindle Unlimited. Every single one. 😁 Edit: I sent you a recommendation on Instagram. OMG please do a middle grade horror video! I'm doing Middle Grade March, and I'd love to add some to my TBR.

The Forgotten Girl is actually a middle grade book. It gets a bit dark for a kids' book. It plays on some real life history that's messed up. It was good!

I honestly feel like we need to have a talk as a community about The Resurrectionist. I'm going to give White full credit for both the concept (amazing), and the plotting (e.g., telling the story as a mystery from the perspective of the victim is a great idea), but on a sheer sentence-by-sentence level, this is one of the worst-written books I've ever read. The characterizations are weak; the psychology is so superficial that it's borderline laughable - I honestly thought it might be jokes for the first quarter. The female protagonist actually spends a sizable percentage of time thinking about how great her own breasts are, which is basically the classic example of a man being incompetent to write a female character. I would never tell anyone NOT to read a book, I just really find this kind of thing SO disappointing. If the horror community continues to accept writing on this level, we're going to continue to receive writing on this level. It's not fine.

Ooh! So I read both "Lakewood" and "Catherine House" last year and really liked them both. "Lakewood" is more of a horror/sci-fi sort of deal than a thriller. "Catherine House" is kind of hard to pin down. I wouldn't call it a thriller... maybe more of a gothic mystery? Although even to call it a "mystery" doesn't seem 100% correct. It's weird and I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't recommend it to some one who's looking for action or answers to the questions the story poses... if that makes sense? Really interesting though.

Oh man, I really disliked Catherine House, it was my first DNF of 2021 - Maybe you'll see something in there that I didn't. I got about 60% of the way through and was like, nah...
