great game, great review. one of the gripes I have with the metro games is the mess of difficulty options. In my personal opinion, only ranger and spartan hardcore should have been there. not knowing how much ammo, medkits or throwables you have makes it more intense. also the gunplay changes for the better, enemies kill you fast, but you can also kill about every enemy with a well placed headshot. If you haven't tried it, give it ago. at first I thought it would throw off the balance, but personally I think it makes it perfect, plus you will never run out of resources if you look around. I also notices YT hasnt been notifying me of all your uploads. at least I have good stuff to watch to start the weekend. take care!

Yeah KZbin is pretty stingy with passing around my videos to my own subscribers. But yeah I’ll have to try the other difficulties, for the reviews I always go for standard for a baseline.

@@HorrorReview yeah I hate it that YT is still broken in that way. I am picky with who I sub to, so it would be nice if they would actually notify me. I understand why you play on normal, since in most games it is also the "intended" way the devs think the game should be played on. and ofc. time constraint, because most games just ramp up the difficulty artificially by making the enemies spongy and such, and let's be real, no one likes to waste time :D thanks for the reply, have a great weekend

juhu, a new vide. i love this game series man. last light brought me into the franchise, but the first one is by far my favourite. it just has something to it, the first one. the soundtrack, the atmosphere, the diary entries...it has soul. have you played the first one? AND DUDE do i LOVE this guitar acoustic soundtrack from the first game. i once listend to it 12 hours in a loop while writing a short story (in german, english ist just my third language, just in case you wonder why my speech and skills are so shit haha ) and i won the short story contest with it. so it has really a special space in my heart. i was, with this tune, comepletely absorbed in my mindplace, while writing the story. it made me feel......things, you know. it made me feel something, at least.

Reviewed the original game a few years ago, decided to just cover the sequel. Won’t be doing exodus but this one was just horror enough to do.

@@HorrorReview yeah unfortunately exodus went the modern open world road. while many say its the best in the series, i found it the worst. it was a good game, dont get me wrong, but the open world sucked the soul and poetic beauty of the first one out.

Ah, yes, the Metro series, or as I like to call them, "action Stalker". A really good shooter, excelent ambiance, and really entretaining, but not much replay value in my perspective. it's a very linear experience (a really good one, mind you). For me, of all the Metro games, the first one was the one with the most "horror" elements, still they're all great games, you can't go wrong with any of them

I remember playing the original Metro 2033 (not Redux) on Xbox 360 at launch and was absolutely amazed by the atmosphere and everything it had going for it. But the gunplay felt so mediocre and bullets had no impact whatsoever unless... Unless the Ranger DLC was purchased which was basically a paid fix. I ended up both loving and hating the game as a result. I managed to grab the Steam version of the original before it was pulled, the experience on PC is definitely enhanced. Sadly none of the sequels got the feel of the weapons right, in my view. The Metro series is absolutely fascinating, but there's just too much jank, at times awful storytelling (Last Light follows the bad ending of 2033) and on-screen cranberry juice splatter. Great reviews!

The metro series never really clicked for me, even though I finished all of them. Something about the atmosphere, the stock sound effects and whiny soundtrack, coupled with awkward stealth and combat never made them feel more than average to me
