Have you see The Silence on netflix? it’s apocalyptic, not zombies but weird creatures. the main character is deaf and the only one who truly knows how to survive (for reasons i won’t spoil in case someone happens to want to check it out) unless you know how to live in silence, like having a deaf family member and adapting to that. for this short, i don’t think every deaf person would die; they rely heavily on their other senses - sight, would be the major one when it comes to such topics. i feel like they would possibly have a fighting chance. however, i could see how the title of this is misleading; it frankly makes no sense. but, hearing impaired people being the only ones to survive ‘the pulse’ is a quite interesting take on the average apocalyptic movie, even compared to The Silence, where in that they figured out how to survive vs. just surviving as deaf or other hearing impaired people do in this. i feel as though the title could’ve been better but they went for the most cliché and ‘obvious’ title to grab attention.

We type everything the hearing person says, and the client can hold a normal conversation with family, friends or work colleagues. I've never thought of deaf people like sub humans, they're just unable to hear, but not to love or feel or think like anyone else. I like how when they’re at the bottom of the step and it’s revolving around them, the subtitles get hidden when they pass over it.

I liked how the subtitles showed that if you can't see the hands, you cannot know what they say.

MORE!!! I NEED More!!! What a genius idea!!! This is some George a Romero level shit going down here. They need to make this a full series on KZbin. Let's get this to the top of the comments if you agree!!!

Amazing! My whole family except for me is deaf so I can relate good to this kind of thematism. Great actors, I bet they're not acting deaf? (Yea some movies using fake deaf actors and imo you can see the difference) But I'm not a native speaker, I only know german signs. Anyways: Very well done! Great short film! I love your horror shorts.
