Priceless. The way she almost overpowered him by calling him old (as our fears and regrets become after a time), but he got back at her by talking about parents. When we feel we've conquered our fears, we are only shoved with new ones.

I First thought that the demon was grief but since the demon was around when she was a kid, depression seems more likely. Very good performance from both actors and production was first class!

Not depression as the main emotion : fear. Fear and then every emotion fear evokes, especially through practically birth to late teenage years/early twenties is practically every emotion you c have! But then, I am a bit strange. But then, she did have a demon feeding off of her!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Anyone who's going through depression, ED's or any other mental health disorders, this is the epitome of it! Love how it is portrayed in this film because this shows just shows the struggle but also the fight we put up against the disorder we have, fighting with those voices, feeling like some demon is sucking our souls from us every day, sucking our energy and purpose in life, I'm so glad she stood up to her demon(s)! The demon(s) can be got rid of, but remember others suffer with the same, help those who suffer the same

WOW! Brilliant!--that was one of the best psychological horror stories I have seen in a long time. That evil thing lived off of her fear and anger--everything negative is who he was through her. And if you noticed, when they were talking he grew weak through his breathing and talking when she wasn't upset or crying. But the minute she started to cry, he loved it and his breathing got better, etc. So well-done!

The voice of the creature is creepy & horrifying enough to give me night terrors for days 😓 Btw amazing job dear Alter for this one. C J I have never experienced depression or any mental illnesses, and even if I’m just a gal from the internet, I hope that things will get better for you. Just know that whatever you are facing right now, there will always be a way out. Remember that there are people who love and care for you. Never put yourself down because you are worth more than all of the materialistic riches in this world. You are worth something, and even if I don’t personally know you, I still know that you are. Remember that, as cheesy as it sounds, everything happens with a purpose. Those hardships that you face will help you become a stronger person as a whole. Just keep going, and keep believing in yourself. Much love

"You and you alone made me. You were born from every nightmare, every fear, every bad thought or deed. The more frightened you were, the greater I became." Already commented, but still can't stop coming back to this one. This resonated with me. The demon is the manifestation of our doubts, our fears and our resentments and trauma. Also, our childhood is when we get most of our trauma as this is when we're developing, so also get hints of a kind of warped imaginary friend. Also the actor playing the demon is AMAZING - his voice is a mix between Barry white and Hannibal Lecter vibes lmao . A perfect mix of ice cold indulgence

As a recovering herion addict - clean for about 6 years - this hit me deeply. Now because it was with her when she was very young I am thinking it was possibly just fear or depression but it could have still been - as I seen it - addiction. It comes from a place of insecurity - loneliness - fear - depression so it very well may have evolved from childhood onward. I really appreciate the creators of this short and it really meant a lot to me even if it wasn’t suppost to have that meaning to it I could totally relate literally fighting with addiction and letting it ruin me and everyone around me and still to this day it’s there and with me. I have those moments but I’ve learned to fight them now.... I just don’t know what else to say other than it’s kinda crazy just watching this play out it felt like watching myself and my addiction going at it while I watched helplessly without being able to do anything about it.

This was honestly one of the best videos I've seen on this channel. . It was as if the film gave a face to the terrible feelings that we get when we suffer from something traumatic (losing a loved one in this case). We have a tendency to tell ourselves very negative things and it is up to us if we believe these thoughts or let them pass (I know...easier said than done). Great short film!

I've been binging Alter's videos for the last 2 days and this is easily the best I've seen so far. Both actor's performances are spectacular. Max Williams' voice is enough by itself to scare me. And the writing... "You created me... No! I am unique to you. You and you alone made me... Without you there is no me." Here it is OBVIOUS that the creature is her own personal demon... but it was never stated, which is brilliant in my opinion. Other writers would have beat the viewer over the head with some ham-fisted piece of dialog to make sure "they got it". Not here. This is such a great example of less is more. WONDERFUL!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE STORY! Completely unique! To have the "protagonist" actually carry on a dialog with the demon! Where they acknowledge each other! BRILLIANT! I really would love to see this film done till it's conclusion, which to me, would be either A) they go to battle, and in the end, they both die (he kills her, but he needs her to exist, therefore he "dies" also or B) and my personal choice, she eventually realises that it needs her fear to exist. It feeds on it. So she stands up to him, thereby defeating him! Either way, I would love to see more of this one! My ONLY critique would be the demons costume/makeup. While I loved the hair and the hands, and the voice, the face just looked too fake to me. But, honestly, that's just me nit-picking. It's not bad! It just think it could be better. But all in all, I loved it!

I actually thought he was pretty dope. I’d like my own closet demon. Maybe mine would be a woman cause that would have scared me more as a kid. I’d keep her and be the weird neighbor that rarely leaves the house and talks to “himself”. He really wasn’t malevolent. She created him so he expected her to take care of him. But she left him to die and he had to get her back. The way he acted and spoke seemed like he had always been like that so I’m sure I would have spoken civilized to him at some point.

@ALTER I have a good short film idea!! So This little girl lost a guardian who was very over protective and it was a little girl and soon after she lost her guardian she started having a imaginary friend named “mr/mrs. bottons” and her guardian loves making bottons for the little girl and the little girl would get bullied and she’d tell mr/mrs. bottons every time she told him everything and when she would see her Bully they would randomly have huge bruises all over them and eventually the little girl got scared and told her other guardian who was alive and they thought she was crazy and then the other guardian would start getting bruises also and then the little girl had to figure out a way to get rid of mr/mrs.bottons and it ends up with her getting bottons sewed in her eyes and mouth stitched with rope because she kept telling ppl about mr/mrs.bottons Add more detail if wanted and if u even end up doing this 😁😁

This is not only a great production. It is profound. I still hear that voice in my head from when I was a kid telling me I'm too fat or too stupid or fearful of bullies. It's not as powerful but still lingering and the older I get It changes it's tactics it now uses regret, it says look at the opportunities you missed in life, you could have done this or that but now it's too late your too old ... maybe that's what it used on her parent's. It's a devious bastard and will use anything to steal our joy and bring us to despair but we can't believe it's lies his poison is our joy don't let him steal it.

Thanks so much. We're grateful you took the time to watch it and very glad you enjoyed it. With regard to the ending, short movies a like short stories... you can go go for the 'punch line / twist' type story, or you can go for the complete, beginning/middle/end story or what we decide with this was to produce this a a kind of opening chapter or set-up for a bigger story.. So the intention was present this as a story that 'might' work as a standalone in terms of the notion of a girl confronting the monsters of her past... but then had an open ending because of the challenge to 'stay the night' so it would then hopefully leave people expecting or wanting more...
