I like his films but I agree, he wouldn't have been good for what his ideas were for the Francise as a whole. Love em or hate em, he wanted to retcon alien 3 and 4 like they never existed. This would have happened after Prometheus was made, and after release of alien : covenant which were two new timeline prequels with little retcons of their own already. It would have muddled the timeline even more and we'd end in the same position as the Terminator Francise after dark fate bombed.

The set design from the trailer and teaser look incredible! The acting looks great! The practical effects look insane! The premise looks interesting! The deaths appear to be unique for an older franchise where you think how many ways can you kill someone! I love the retro futuristic atmosphere which was abandoned in the Prometheus/Covenant. The most important thing though is you have a director that respects and understands the Alien universe. I haven't looked forward to a movie this much in forever. I'm praying the asteroid looking thing is actually The Big Chap in a cocooned state after being blown out by Ripley with the grappling gun since he clearly didn't die on screen. The only other one I guess was John Wick 4.

I think overall it will be decent, but I'm getting Friday the 13th vibes. Dude's like, "There's something in the water!" yet continues to lay in the water. Based on that alone, I'm guessing a lot of these deaths will be the kind you cheer for because the character's actions will be so stupid. 😅
