Exploring With Josh

Күн бұрын

Today, we are embarking on a journey to explore an abandoned mansion complete with its own private island guest house. This remarkable property, constructed in 1941, was once under the ownership of an individual we will refer to as Robert. Robert led a multifaceted life, serving as both a successful businessman and a member of the United States Air Force during his younger years. In an effort to provide an ideal home for his family, including his wife Ellie and their four children, he acquired this magnificent estate.
Ellie, a dedicated stay-at-home mother, took on the responsibilities of caring for their children and managing the estate while Robert diligently worked to amass his family's wealth. Tragically, in 2002, Ellie suffered a heart attack and passed away in her late 50s, leaving Robert heartbroken. Despite attempting to reside in the residence alone after their children had moved away, Robert found it unbearable to remain in the place where his beloved wife took her final breath.
Subsequently, he made the difficult decision to join his children, and the mansion has remained untouched and uninhabited ever since, preserving countless cherished memories within its walls. Join me on this journey as we uncover the remnants of this poignant tale.

Man, I felt kinda sad watching this. It's a cool house and everything, but thinking about the owner losing his wife and just feeling like it isn't a home anymore and leaving everything behind got to me. It would be cool if the family saw this and went back for some of those photos.

As an older person I gotta say this is so sad but it is good that you are documenting it. It's too bad some people choose to be stupid and disrespectful by vandalizing places. That hallway is creepy but such a beautiful home, someone needs to clean up the place. My mind can't wrap around how their stuff is still there...such decay but yet things like the bath towels still hanging there like normal. Another great video Josh!

Sometimes when I’m watching your videos I forget you’re the same age as my adult children. Your wonder at things from the 80’ and 90’s cracks me up. Max Headroom was a classic from 1985. He was supposed to be computer generated but was really a guy with a mask on that just appeared to be generated. He made jokes and was funny at the time. I love your videos but you make me realize I’m getting older than I want to admit. Lol I do appreciate that you value the things you find and it’s sad that no one cares about any of the stuff. 😢

Same. I'm in my early forties and I always want to compliment Josh because I think he's absolutely adorable, but I don't want it's to come across as weird- especially knowing the internet. It's meant absolutely innocently. Literally one of my favorite explorers/ investigators. I just adore his kind personality. Also, I have to agree. I also shared the same nostalgia. I had that same phone that you could see through! (sometimes I think they were better days)😊 Just love it! Sorry for being long-winded, but it is so sad to see this home with so many memories lost to time.

Max Headroom was Matt Frewer. Everyone thought it was computer generated that was how well the videos were done (you gotta take into account the decade). Max Headroom debuted in April 1985 in a British cyberpunk TV movie titled Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future. In the movie, Edison Carter (portrayed by Frewer) is a journalist fleeing his enemies. I believe he also had a TV series & a top ten hit (in several countries) & played on MTV even. Like others who have commented same.. whenever I see Matt Frewer I see Max.

Josh, this is how you should do your Ghost videos man. You should go to haunted places and just Urbex. We all know it's haunted (Allegedly) but you don't have all the gadgets and overreacting to things. This was a great video. You should do something different than all the other Paranormal KZbinrs. In my opinion. It would be nice to see an Urbex video in Waverly or Pennhurst. That would be dope. :)

@@ExploringWithJosh I lived in Egypt from 1978 until 1983. My dad worked at the US Embassy and we lived outside of Cairo in a community called Ma’adi. That’s where the international school was and it was called Cairo American College. Even though it was a K through 12 education facility. I was blessed to live there, but we live through some tumultuous times in the Middle East. Including the assassination of Anwar Sadat. Both of my parents were there, my father was part of the embassy team that was helping coordinate the US military equipment in the parade, and my mother was sitting with a bunch of other embassy wives, just a few rows behind President Sedat. We watched the entire parade on the television at home in our apartment building when we saw the airplanes go over flying red, white and blue streams of smoke out behind them. We heard what we thought were firecrackers. Well as we all know now that wasn’t what what was happening. Egypt is an amazing country and I watched your Vlogs with relish. I guess you could say I’m an OG, I probably didn’t get into watching your Urbex videos until a few years ago. But you remind me of MY sons with their fearless love of exploration and pushing boundaries. Who's Allison? One of the best examples @ 20:23 of not hearing an EVP at normal playback speed but changing speed to 0.25 and the EVP is super clear. If you're not slowing the audio speed down you're missing out. That gear icon in lower right corner of screen is settings. Click settings to change playback speed from normal to 0.25. I wonder why she's there? Again slow audio and It sounds like she's saying "Hello" @ 20:18. I hear "This is Allison" @ 20:23. Do you hear "Help" before that?

I always wonder what someone would think about me if they were able to get to know me only through my things, journals, digital/ online life, medical records and things like that.

Homes like this are time capsules. Its sad to see a place once so full of life decay with everything left behind. I wonder if those kids are still around and where they are today. I hope they're living a great life. Maybe they'll come across this video. I hope they can get their photos

Hi Josh it's a really cool place but at 3355 you should have walked out on the roof because that chimney had a fireplace in it if you look real close

You would think with it's own island and lake house that the kids wouldn't have done something with it. Just so sad to rot away like that. I'd love walking that bridge early in the morning to the little lake house and hang out for the day.

Watching this video made me sad, I missed my grandpa's farm, after he passed away we didn't get to go to his farm again. It's so nostalgic and I miss my childhood. This video made me realize that everything goes gray as we grow old😢 and it made me really sad. By the way I love your videos, I just started watching your videos last week and I'm already hooked.
