The longest cave cartography I've seen done by explorers was over 400 miles in extent as measured. To go there you need a big bundle of printer paper and wait time for the pages to be assembled. I recommend using an empty indoor basketball court extent to lay the sheets side by side so you can walk the cave easily. That exploration continues. NASA and others in the US Government think my cave recreation has future application on moons and planets. Feel free to skip the paper use to go dribble a basketball or something less respectable..

5:31 If you’re ever feeling down after making a bad decision just remember this guy compressed his lungs, stomach, his body so he can squeeze into a very narrow space not because he was running away from danger or rescuing a kitten,or that there was a pot of gold on the other side, but because he just wanted to. I think he was not dumb. He decided to compress his body and to go on, because he thought that due to the gravity he could not escape from the hole by doing It backwards. So he decided to continue hoping that at the bottom of the hole he would have found a room in which he could have twisted his body and than escape from It! It's been a desperate attempt that he made to save his life, made right after the awarness of having done a mistake: enter into the hole head- first.

Anxiety disorders are survival instincts, whether they are helpful or not. If you have speech anxiety, your body reacts to talking in front of people with a "flight" response because it is something that will hurt your well-being. Same goes for all phobias.
@num8ers711
@num8ers711 6 жыл бұрын
Handsome Jack, People with claustrophobia and an average human alike would feel disturbed by this. The mere sight of the words 'stuck' and 'cave' alone would trigger claustrophobia. The thought of death and it's process would make anyone uncomfortable at the very least. There are cases in which staring in a hole could trigger claustrophobia, and it doesn't necessarily have to be so enclosed to an extent where you cannot move. Some cases include the fear of rooms that are enclosed but has accessible space, an example of such is an elevator. It's completely normal to feel disturbed watching this. Unless you're the "tough guy" you think you are or a psycopath, which, judging by your diction, could be both.

What I don't get is if the only way they could have gotten him out alive was to have broken his legs, then why not break his legs to get his corpse out ? I mean what if he wasn't actually dead when pronounced dead, what if he had mearly slipped into a coma and was unconscious due to improper blood flow but could have later regained consciousness only to find himself utterly alone in there without so much as a voice in the cave to speak to him then died. Maybe it wasn't possible even with broken legs to remove him. I swear before everything that is holy and unholy that ppl who do things like this as a way of seeking fun must have a mental illness. Like for God sakes keep yourself at home and get a real hobby. What a cruel thing he did to his family by purposely putting himself into any cave exploration just so he could get some excitement. And now his wife and kids have no graveyard to visit. That was selfish. I mean you gotta feel bad for the guy. But the reality of the whole thing was selfish to his family. He def wasn't thinking of his wife, children, or parents when he took the first step into any cave, but I bet that was all he was thinking of when he was dying. It's just unthinkable really. R.I.P. all the same.

Yea it baffles me considering the situation was already hopeless why they didn't even try to pull him out while he was still conscious and alive or even when he won unresponsive pull him out even if it breaks his legs. In 2005 underwater deep cave diver Dave Shaw died after he went way down deep into an underwater cave and he found the body of an underwater cave diver that had died 10 years prior and he was going back to get the body and they have is huge plan and he ended up dying and they were making it a documentary so he had a camera on his head and you literally see how he dies. *ZERO SYMPATHY* for idiots like these who put themselves and rescuers at risk with their rash behaviour. And why is it that it's almost always Westerners (meaning, people of a certain colour that I can't explicitly specify due to stupid KZbin censorship) who love to perform dangerous activities like cave diving, spelunking, free soloing, base jumping, and mountain climbing? Consider that for thousands of years, the native inhabitants around the Himalayan peaks considered those places sacred and never even attempted to reach the summits. The same can be said about every other indigenous culture on every single continent. Only when Westerners started climbing Everest in droves did it turn into a giant ecological disaster and open graveyard for hundreds of climbers. This innate desire of Western civilization to "conquer" everything it sees - from the highest tops to the deepest depths - is what has led to so much ecological and cultural devastation of the planet.

How you learned that this father of several kids wouldn’t be rescued?

ugh, to me the worst part is that at about 19 hours they came SO CLOSE to getting him out, they had a rope system and were slowly but surely getting him out, there really was hope. then the rock the rope was tethered to broke and john fell back down to his previous position. imagine that- youve been in this horrible, nightmarish situation for 19 hours and finally, finally you’re almost out, and then a freak accident occurs and you’re right back where you were, but now there’s no hope whatsoever, you dont have enough time left to get a new rope tethered to you, and you realize you’re going to die right there after all. really just about the worst death imaginable. i truly can’t fathom his pain and fear, and i hope his poor family is doing okay.

It wasnt that close. The angle of him and his feet was to sharp to fit... They had to brake his leggs with the angle that was... Experts say afterwards it was quite impossible to rescue him... If it was closer to surface or some other slightly different condition, yes then it would have been posible... One idea if it was closer to surface is to drill wider space around him or just drill right from above using gps technique... But now he was so deep down under earth and also so narrow space for drilling... yeah really really sad this... I also hope ALL involved are doing ok.

@Shanna Sweger they should of broke his legs anyway. Even if he died at least his body would be in a coffin!
