When considering horses in nature, like wild mustangs, they manages to give birth unassisted, and have been doing it for many centuries. And when a horse gives birth to her foal, the first few moments together imprints smells that makes a strong bond between mother and foal. We believe that humans should avoid interfering too much during this precious and important moment, unless it is really medically urgent and necessary to assist, and with this case, the mare did a great job on her own, and both mare and foal are healthy and happy.

Good video of that, but i may not know lot's of things about horses but apparently the way it sounds what i noticed, i guess horses don't nay as in calling for their baby before being born/ don't nay at their own baby's after being born to their babies like cows do sure cows don't nay they moo but it's still talking to their own baby's. For a moment it looks like she was a first timer who has never had any baby's before in a way she kinda reminds me of how first time heifers/ young cows act like, get up, walk around, lay down, get back up, walk around, same process over and over again until she gets serious. Other than that again good video.👍 it's amazing how God created females to deliver/ males by their sprem that helps the female to deliver baby's into the world❤. So you see god already created it's designed nowadays people want to destroy it? Especially with humans wow their stupid.

@@coolfrog8777 not so, your vet can instruct you beforehand.. you don't pull the whole foal, just the stuck leg in between contractions to pop the elbow over the pelvis.. if the shoulders get stuck, you pull evenly on both legs in a curve downward.. head back or breech is different.. call the vet unless you do have correct experience/knowledge.. you could get your arm broken getting in there to correct the position..

@@arabianhorsefamily Eric, the mother's body and the foal's amniotic sac cushion the baby until it's pretty much born. Some mares even give birth standing up, and the foal drops, breaking it's amniotic sac and the foal gasps in it's first breath, and it is alright. Mothers move as nature tells them, to help in the birth. It's very painful and hard. But then it's over. And the exhausted mother's thoughts are all for her baby.

Why can't they stand up immediately after they come out?
@Caninecancersucksrocks4 жыл бұрын
the the it always takes all newborns a little time - their bodies have to adjust to going from being inside, getting all its needs supplied by mom through the placenta to being in the outside and breathing on their own. There’s a lot that goes into that first time standing - they’ve never done it before! Got to learn what their legs do, how to move them, keeping their balance. Primates and humans are the only land animals that don’t stand and walk soon after birth, and we only have a TWO legs 😉 it is really quite the miracle they’re up so quickly when you think about it!

The mare did just find and less human interaction is the best choice for allowing mare and foal to bond. Of course if she is in trouble u should help but everything seemed to go fine. Thank you for your good wishes.

What is going on with the eyes?
@arabianhorsefamily4 жыл бұрын
It’s the flash light from the phone giving the horses red eyes. Nothing to worry about ☺️

What is that material around the foal when it starts to come out? Also was it me or did the horse have a umbilical cord? I may of misunderstood
@rainebrooks20894 жыл бұрын
It is the amniotic sac! Just like a human baby, the foal grows and develops inside of it. And yes! Just like a human she had an umbilical cord, and the mama has to deliver the placenta.
@arabianhorsefamily2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they do have umbilical cord to draw nutrients into their growing body inside the amniotic sac during the mares 11 months of pregnancy 🐴✨

Somebody obviously went in and tied up the sac so it wasn't dragging on the ground. It appears the video was shot in pieces, or edited to shorten it.
@arabianhorsefamily3 жыл бұрын
Correct, we tied up the sac for the horses convenience and more hygienic.
