I admire you so much as a rider! Its not because you jump big tracks but because you are such a naturally soft and correct rider and how well you do with the green horses. I am always so impressed by how correct your newly broke horses are. And that's not something that anyone can really teach you how to do. I really look up to how you ride and train your horses. I hope that I can develop into a rider that presents themselves as well as you do!

Like seriously, what a happy and healthy young boy he is! All of your horses are so well mannered and you (and your parents!) obviously look after them so well. Love your videos - I find it super interesting how different horses jump in different shapes and how that develops with practice and I presume muscular development (?) like Pickles front legs as she begins to land after the last jump were really entertaining to watch hahah is that just because she's young and still learning how to carry herself 'properly'?
@HollyLenahanSJ5 жыл бұрын

Hey holly, so i noticed your ankles constantly tap the horse during trot. Is that intentional or is there is a reason?

That’s me squeezing them as I rise. I find it helps stop them being dead to the leg

Isn't it annoying? To the horse or are they used to it and dont mind.

he reminds me of khal because both of them kind of curl behind the verticle. but with khal it was kind of fixed so. you should also consider schooling on both leads instead of only one.

Are you seriously jumping a horse after only two weeks of being broken under saddle? You're seriously going to skip an entire YEAR AND A HALF of flatwork, polework, cavalletti work, and dressage training that should be done with any young horse before jumping anything whatsoever? Did you even long-line, ground drive, and lunge your horse with side reins and a chambon before breaking him to ride? I'm guessing not, because he has zero muscular development, especially in his topline. This is a complete and utter joke and it's scary how little young riders know about riding and training today.
@HollyLenahanSJ5 жыл бұрын
If you have a problem with an obviously well started, balanced horse jumping a single cross pole (which is about the same size as the cavalettis you recommend me doing) then you really need to re-evaluate your priorities.
