They were so cool, but i made sure to let them know I wouldn't try to sugar coat things and then in the video i made it clear it was a sponsorship. People are going to think what they think, it's just best to be honest to both parties and remember that it's people behind all these projects wether you know ow them or not.

Its very interesting that the founder of hooded horse got his start modding games I really like; I generally don't pay attention to publishers, but it wasn't until the horse direct video that I realized that I've played like half of the games they've published and really enjoyed most of them. Obviously I know nothing about the guy personally, but it's very nice to have a publisher that clearly shares a lot of my gaming sensibilities

I have a few statements regarding this episode: - I defenetely missed on a bunch of stuff that was discussed and only reason i am ready to tolerate this is because this obviously was the intended way to engage with this podcast (and much of your other content). - Its interesting to see Mandalore- from a new side: his videos make him look as a thoughtful serious person, they are calmly narrated, have prearranged script with carefully placed jokes, he tries to be objective as possible (as much as it possible in context of consuming media) and avoids being misunderstood. Meanwhile here in casual conversation he 100% alligns with your sincere inclination to create posthumor stuff, when you intentionally confuse viewer, not giving context, because this is funny to confuse people. Its like high-commitment shitpost but with promise that this all make sense and just need more context to understand. - i probably will listen to this 2 or 3 more times after i get some of this context. (in advance sorry for my eng) P.S. Also imagine being autistic and stumbling on stmething like this podcast: amount of straight-face sarcasm forces you to actively decipher what really is being told even when you are average person. Without some ~normal level of social intuition this becomes god-tier impossible task.

Listening to what you all are trying to do is inspiring. Things that don't get to see the light of day because it *isn't good* or it *isn't profitable* it really should, because it can lead to better things for the humans behind making the thing. I think, anyone who works on anything in any media / creative space need to be proud of what they have made regardless of what the public / others feel. I remember the energy I felt when I went to an indie meet up for soundfall releasing, and they would go around talking about the accomplishments of everyone and celebrating that. I loved it, it's easier to wish nothing but the best for those folks.

That section where Mandy is talking about making sure he’s not taking credit for the good work of hooded horse is very interesting to me when comparing to bigmode. To be clear I have no idea what’s going on in there, I’m not trying to pass any judgement, but until I heard Mandy explicitly mention it I had never really thought about how I was already thinking about bigmode as “that dunkey company” whereas I was thinking about HH as “that company that HIRED Mandalore” Anyway no sex fm no watch
@ASzwaykowski5 күн бұрын
But Dunkey....founded Big Mode himself with his and Leah's money, didn't he? He is the one who hires people so it is perfectly appropriate to think of it as "That Dunkey company" - it's his company. Mandy is in a completely different category here and honestly it's really cool that he was scouted by HH for the good work he's done on KZbin - it's nice to see passionate people who started on KZbin getting more involved in the industry of the job they love :)
@t0xicChick3n4 күн бұрын
@@ASzwaykowski Correct. Jason and Leah started Bigmode themselves.
@Solinaru3 күн бұрын
@@ASzwaykowski I think the point is that Animal Well kept getting credited to Dunky for a while even though Billy Basso was the only dev. Dunky didn't come out to take credit or anything like that, but Bigmode (as a company) needed to get ahead of that PR and failed to do so. Thankfully Animal Well was a big success and so it was culturally revenant long enough that Billy got his due.

Hi, first time commenter: Hearing about this behind the scenes of the cancellation of a game was interesting, looking forward to the documentary. Would final V3 (Julian and Sam) be interested into looking into the downturn of Fanstratics? It was a spiritual successor to HoM&M III by the same lead designer. Unfortunately he got hit hard by covid and had to quit, I was curious if it could have been passed on to another lead, and how often a larger project depends on a single person.
