6 mins in to the video and I can tell you that horse is so relieved to have a leader in the end of the rope. When owners cater to their own feeling they create a situation of anxiety. I was trying to get him to bond with me. The way to bond with a horse is to guide them in the right direction.

Gorgeous horse and great learning video. I just brought my second horse home July 3 and separation isn’t to bad so far. I had a friend give him some short feed when I took my first one to Vet a couple days ago. She said he fussed for a couple minutes then quieted down and she left. When I came home he was happy but not to riled. 😊❤ thanks for the great videos and your kind training with others horses. He’s gorgeous! 😊

If you listen, you will find many ppl will talk over him, but I believe in an effort to explain their experiences, with their horse, or the horses behavior. I really love watching you work. The communication between you and the horse can be very subtle. I saw post of a video talking about the dujardin disgusting disaster about how you should always train the house with peace. That's what you do. You always use peace. Yes there are breakdowns and resistance from many horses but they very quickly learn how to get to that place of peace. Another thing, you always give them a reason, reward for doing the thing. That is something everyone, including dog trainers need to remember. There should always be something in it for them. A positive reason for doing something.

This horse is identical to my boy. Behaviour the same and buddy sour…I’ve been told Pinto/Friesian are super clingy to their humans usually bond with one person and would fit in your pocket if they could. Super sensitive and smart.

I'm going to nitpick a bit. Paints are a breed, American paint horse. The breed began when quarter horse breeders had a foal with too much white to register as a QH. They were called crop outs. So a new registry was started for them. Basically, paints are of quarter horse and TB lineage only. None of them are gaited horses. Pinto is a coat color and is the correct terminology for any horse marked like this. There is a pinto registry that is open to any breed with the pinto coat coloring. T-Bone appears to be a gaited horse, not sure what breed. Maybe Tennessee walker, racking or spotted saddle horse?

He made a good point here with this one. Being buddy sour is a natural behavior and its just a matter of teaching them that they'll be safe if they're away from buddies for a short period of time. This horse is really young too, a lot of it comes from the fact that he's only just being backed and hasn't had to spend much time away from his herd yet.

I'm not a Paint person, but this horse is stunning. Everyone talking about the owner talking over Steve, I agree with the person saying they have been struggling and have a limited time. I feel the same way when I have the vet out. I listen, but I have so much to relay and so many questions to get to in a short amount of time. Same with the farrier. You must advocate for your animals.

You asked people if they could please like comment I don’t see him, but he could not like your videos. This was a very interesting one to watch although I don’t have anybody Sauer horses there were still a lot of good ground work. I’m getting ready to work with my little full she is very friendly. She already knows how to stop and back up but she outgrew her halter so I have to get her a new one. I was working on Laureen her head she was doing pretty good, I don’t really want to work with her too much but I have to make it safe for me to go in with her. She really likes me and wants to play with me and of course part of that plane is bucking and rearing. I’m glad you guys had a good time in the states I wish you would come to San Diego in Southern California, there are a lot of horses in this part of the country. We have the Delmar race track on the Fairbanks polo field lots of different things but we also have a lot of quarter horses and rodeos and things like that here hopefully one day if you go to Las Vegas, I will be able to come to one of your demos.

It seems the solution to being buddy sour is to separate the horse from the buddy, and work diligently with the horse alone, showing them that you are the leader. And give it time; Steve said three hours.

I always believe people shouldn’t interfere with foals until mum decides to wean them. A mum can reject if she gets too upset not a thing you’d want. Just the scent on her foal could be a problem.

The only horse I've ever owned who l know had an horrendous and early weaning, grew up not giving one jot for other horses. Most independent loner of a horse I've ever owned. Who knows what kicks this off but the mare I've got at the minute can have a melt down if a horse she's only just met goes the other side of a tree on a hack!

very interesting. if you find it difficult that says it all my pony had this, I had no idea what it was, she didn't want to out of the yard, and if she did she would try to canter home and she used to follow other horse nothing to do with me on the ride on the other side of the road, she also used to canter to the gate while doing exercise it was a pain and even more when i didnt know what it was and how to handler her

That was a great result! I have one question that is stuck in my brain, I noticed that her stirrups appeared to be too long for her. She seemed to be stretching her legs way out, particularly the right one. It seems she'd have more control of her seat if the stirrups were just a bit shorter? Any thoughts?
