In the boy Scouts we had halazone tablets for water purification when boiling was not available . But boil for about 10 minutes and you're good to go.

Very nice video. Are these public trails? My daughter is training for the Mongol Derby in Mongolia next August and we are looking at places we can camp and she can ride. I would appreciate any info you have on public horse trails you would recommend.

The name of those are hobbles. With that the horses aren't able to go far away from us, because the can't walk fast.

In my part of the Rockies you don't want to be without a dog. In Grizzly country you sleep much better. And no, well trained dogs do not hassle wildlife.

@@theleonorlife I love riding the Yellowstone country, Bridger Teton Nstional Forest, south and a little east of the park. Turpin Meadow, Pacific Creek, out of Moran jct north of Jackson and Double Cabin out of Dubious. All are excellent Trail heads with stock corals and water. You can hobble out, use electric and high line too. Many other spots are in our videos. Hope you make the journey. I meet quite a few equitrekkers from Utah and everywhere. Happy Trails.
