Can't wait to see it as final finished project. Owing a zx14r, I know it's a pain to work on because of chassis. But it's been overshadowed by ultimate love to this machine.

The gen 1 zx14 06 to 08 fuel pump has the same housing as then gen 1 hayabusa just different bolt pattern than the busa. The hayabusa aem high volume fuel pump will easily fit in the zx14 pump. I use it for e85. The gen 1 zx14 pump fits all year gas tanks. Alot more volume 340 lph

Why would you go for a ZX14 over a Busa for tuning? Genuinely curious as I prefer the look of these but thought conventional wisdom was that the Suzuki is king for big power.

Pat, the Suzuki has 25 years of tuning going for it and more people have opted for it over time. Both bikes can be tuned for big power and they seem to have similar reliability. The Suzuki is the easy choice but I’m sure you’d have good results with Team Green!

For safety we fitted forged pistons and rods. APE head studs and nuts.

Have never been keen on the monocoque frame used on the zx12r and zzr1400, made the 12r a pig to service. I suppose the airbox doesn't normally see much pressure, even at 180, surprised it's so leaky though.
