Out of control? I don't think that statement means what you think it means.... This was actually VERY controlled, I've seen hitch teams take off and destroy entire city blocks during parades. Just plowing through anything in their way, cars, people, buildings, signs, it didnt matter. They were so scared there was no stopping them until they unfortunately went down. The horses in this video are obviously well trained and even the most well trained horses spook, but they held it together long enough for the situation to calm itself down. Perfectly handled by absolutely everyone around them. The horses, the handlers on the ground, the team on the wagon and the spectators on the street watching the parade go on who moved slowly and quietly away from the barrier railing in between them and the hitch team, because of that it made for a fantastic outcome.
@Saartje053 жыл бұрын
This wasn't controlled at all. The horses hurt themselves, the right horse was still stuck even when they started moving again. Public started clapping and the driving was making jokes eventhough it was still a mess. This was a very dangerous situation.

@itsallgood40933 жыл бұрын
No, that is not the reason. One of the reins either got caught on something or dropped.
@dild0_swagginz3 жыл бұрын
Its a chain reaction. The horses behind learn to listen to those in front, which is why there is usually a specific set of horses that go in specific orders on the pulling system. When the front horses are misbehaving, spooking, turning, moving. The horses behind follow suit because that's what they were taught to do. The the cart handler is supposed to watch their hands, one wrong pull and they can all start turning. The cart handler was pulling the left rein while one of the stable hands were trying to pick up the back right horses hoof. Screaming "Wooooaaah" in a nervous fashion doesn't help the situation any better. I can and will give brownie points for not letting the horses go completely nuts and break away from the cart or start running with it and causing mishap like some improper team carriage pulls go. Some improperly handled team pulls end with broken or dead horses, damaged cars, barrier break aways, etc. This is what gives carraige horses a bad wrap, people like this post videos and possibly don't understand whats going on. The handlers and stable hands were in the wrong, they should've calmed down and watched what they were doing. The horses could've been nervous from the small isle space, the crowds, the bells, or something I can't see. Horses are not machines, no matter the amount of training, anything can happen. The crowd didn't help in this situation by screaming, clapping, worry some tones, etc.
@itsallgood40933 жыл бұрын
Actually one of the horses got caught up in one of the reins, or one of the reins got dropped. Everyone did a fine job of controlling the situation. And they were screaming whoa so they could be heard above the other noise. I drove a carriage for over 13 yrs in a downtown area and was in quite a few parades. This could have been really bad if it wasn't for the driver and handlers.

Really poor riggings for those horses. The rear pair were too close to the actual stagecoach, and the lead pair had too much slack behind them, between them and the rear pair. I suspect whoever harnessed the horses had a bit 'o St.Paddy's lovely flavors before starting the harnessing. My kids could have done a more equal-handed job by the time they were 8 & 9....This is a sad thing to do to the lovely horses for the sake of humans wanted to have fun. For SHAME!!

These horses are not out of control. The reins were dropped and the team respond to what the reins directed them to do. It only looked like they were out of control because the movement was a sporadic combination of the driver trying to find the other rein, and the team moving in accordance to what the loose rein was doing. The team was confused, not out of control.

@panheadchick12126 жыл бұрын
Not KevinBro . This had NOTHING to do with bad training. No horseman would have brought out a team of horses weighing more than 8000 lbs out in public if they weren't trained. If you watch closely, one of the 8 reins that are 20+ feet long loosened and is wrapped around the right rear horses leg (right above the green leg wrap) this causes him to start to spook, two ladies in the crowd shout out to the handler and point it out. When she goes back to look, the two lead horses start to back up a little, which makes the heel chains become slack and go down by their feet and then they start to panic, as the chain and shaft are banging against their legs and feet. This had NOTHING to do with training all. The lady that came out of the crowd from across the street and turned the front two and held them calm while the other lady loosened up the dropped rein deserves alot of credit, she kept the team from possibly bolting. So not a case of bad training, just an example of a horse becoming frightened over an accidental happening.

See here's the thing- I don't blame the crowd. People don't know horses- not everyone is horse knowledgeable, nor should they be expected to be. But the trainer should've NEVER brought horses into a situation where screaming and loud noises would be an issue if they had any doubt if the horses would be able to handle it. “Out of control” is a bit misleading…more like an “equipment malfunction”. Something was up with the reins - looked like maybe a line disconnected and got caught around the legs of the right hind horse. That line looked like it would’ve been connected to a lead horse (hence why they walked off). Great job by the handler(s) correcting it! It did look like the right hind horse was still hung up somewhere as his neck stays turned to the right despite slack in the driving reins. Even when the wagon & team drove on that horse was still having troubles…the traces were “pulling” him along when they went forward again. Hopefully the handlers caught this and fixed the issue down the road. BTW Horses in parades are desensitized to crowds cheering 📣 and other loud noises, so it wasn’t noise that spooked them. The lead team walked off and got turned around while there was slack in the reins…hence the scramble as they had to reverse & turn to get back into alignment. 👍🐴🤠

Horses get spooked by jingly bells on their necks while building crowd oohs and aahhhs. There. Better title
@johnnyllooddte34153 жыл бұрын
its not the crowd.. the rear right horse legs are still caught in his harness wrong and they didnt see it.so it happened again

The horses weren’t out of control just spooked by the reins and chains around their legs. Out of control is when they run full tilt and don’t stop for anything.

Harness was an absolute mess. The wheel team was way too tight against the coach. The harness itself wasn’t a heavy pulling harness for that kind of weight. The lead team had no Breeching, their harness was light duty for carts, not heavy stage coaches. Their tugs were way too loose.

Oh wow at the end the horses near the carrige DIDNT want to go
@katjavandenende86455 жыл бұрын
actually what happens is that the front horse go to the left and the driver reacts by pulling on the right rein, by doing this he pulls them backwards and they walk against the yellow parts since these are held together with chains and there are bells their backs combine into a sound they got scared from that had they seen what happens their reaction would probably been worse by running at full speed straight ahead trampeling the woman in front of them because that is their first reaction running away from the danger the blinders actually help because when they don't see the danger they think its not there also horses can see almost 360 degrees however they don't see everything in full hd they see it slightly hazy by putting blinders on them they ensure that horses don't get spooked for example by THE FUCKING CARRIAGE that is the whole reason behind blinders to ensure horses don't see the carriage because for them the carriage is a predator the only one who did something wrong is the driver

I don't know about others but I didn't see any out of control horses. I saw antsy horses being kept under control by a very good handler!

Having trained horses professionally for decades in the past, I can tell you that those horses were not properly trained, the handler was not experienced enough and it is a very lucky thing the horses themselves had common sense. The wheel horse was clearly not hitched properly and could not move forward easily. He may have had his tongue over the bit. The people along the parade route were in grave danger. Had those horses started to go, there would have been death for sure. they should have immediately unhitched that team and walked them away.

Driver dropped a line to his right lead horse underneath the right wheeler and could only pull them left, he probably should’ve had his lines tied and had someone head the leaders while someone else grabs the line. They are probably finely trained horses, but a few mistakes by the drivers can lead to stuff like this

The only reason is, because their is a lot of noise and people around the horses get anxious and agitated by the noise, this is why you have cars not horses. Complete logic
@harryssunshine94033 жыл бұрын
Yeah, HOW DO YOU THINK THE HORSES ARE GONNA CALM DOWN WITH ALL THAT NOISE!?

Please Note it is St. Patrick's Day not St. Pat's as referenced in the title of the Vodeo - no wonder the horses revolted. It is disrespectful to meddle with the full name.

The horse was not out of control the horse was simply scared there is so many people there and I have road In so many parades and it is very stressful for me and my horse no matter how trained the horse is that can still happen

I don’t blame the horses for spooking or feeling uncomfortable. I wouldn’t want to wear a big harsh bit in my mouth either. Poor horses. And the dumb crowd’s not helping the situation.😒
@itsallgood40933 жыл бұрын
THE HORSES ARE FINE! It seemed to be a dropped rein, which can cause a problem. Nothing about the bit was the problem and I'm sure they have been around plenty of crowds.

Horses don't belong in parades working for free. They belong in the wild or safe in their owner's pasture.

PEOPLE!!!!! They are horses, not Egotists. When horses are behaving like this, ANYWHERE, it's because they sense danger. Now you can make sense of everything you see, but Horses cannot. If they can't make sense of it, then in their mind, it's 'DANGER'. The absolute WORST thing to do is applaud & cheer. Quiet, Calm, 'Easy Does It'.... If you have to make noise, the word is said in a low, long tone.... Whoa. Don't scream it, don't say it with panic in your voice... Y'all learned how to say The Pledge of Allegiance together, as well as The Lord's Prayer, maybe even a Scout's Creed, or whatever.... 'Whoa' is just one word. Can you figure out how to chime in TOGETHER, to help scared animals? Would it kill you? C'mon. Geeze.
