Here we have Dunny once again, he is wearing a UV mask as he has trouble with his eyes which are irritated by UV light. It also keeps the flies off in the summer!
Filmed with GoPro Hero5 black Camcorder amzn.to/2OrEuTs
PLEASE READ THE FAQ's BEFORE POSTING!!
1: Hot shoeing ensures a good fit.
2: No, it doesn't hurt the horse if it's shod correctly by a qualified registered person.
3: The horse is calm because it has been trained from birth to know there is nothing to fear.
4: The majority of horses these days are worked either under saddle or in harness and on hard man made surfaces, shoes protect the feet from wearing down too much and can add grip via studs in the shoes for competition animals.
5: Feral horses have particularly hard feet and manage them naturally by foraging, if they get sick they recover or die, it’s nature.
6: The average horse needs re-shoeing every 6-8 weeks
7: The bit I am nailing to has no nerves and is made of Keratin, the same as your fingernails and hair.
8: The burning smells just like burning hair.

Love your ferrier vehicle. Here in the United States it seems ferrier rigs are getting larger and larger. Many are pulling a trailer around with them now so they can use their truck for other tasks when they're not working. I guess narrower roads and tighter emission restrictions limit what you can drive but the organisation in your vehicle is marvelous.

I love your disclaimer at the top. Probably saves you hours of answering comments. After shoeing all day, why do I watch shoeing videos on KZbin? Probably because it's nice to watch someone else work, from the comfort of my recliner. 🤣 I don't recall if I've ssid said this before so Ill say it again. You are a bloody fine farrier. It's a pleasure to watch you work. 😊

@@garyhuston I'm not a professional butcher, but I kill, clean, and butcher the hogs and deer I take, and I'm not a professional farrier, but I put a pretty decent trim on my own horses, yet I can see what the both of you are talking about. Following lines, sharpening knives, and keeping bacteria out are the first three that come to my amateur's mind. Also, I like your FAQ's and answers - don't think I've seen another farrier doing that, although I'd take qualified over registered, and hey! So far, no one has accused the horse's owner of blindfolding it! ;)
