That's an expert rider. That's a good horse 3yrs old, but sensible. And he rewards the horse for doing a good job. Great post.

Lovely schooling of a young horse, with patience and kindness, and the rider with the nice, soft voice. So often people forget the voice is also an aid a grand type in the making 🍀

Aaaah bless him. He so enjoyed the double bank. With his little bucks afterward showed how much he loved it and says "Aren't I a clever boy? I did it!" Well done and I love the training, soft and gentle.

I used to love working with the youngsters. Like he says, they are an open book, every one of them are different which you sometimes don’t get with the older horses & ponies. As lovely as it is to ride a reliable & trustworthy horse/pony, they can feel a bit samey. Youngsters however are full of spunk & you g energy & to be able to gently guide them through their training to have the result of them becoming an independent & confident individual, well, there is nothing like it. There are some people that find it tedious & repetitive, as a rider, you learn so much from these babies.

I respect how your letting the horse take its time over the ditch most people just whip there horse causing them to leap and cause injury to the horse but doing it where the horse can look and think what it's doing so so much better , also this horse is like a spitting image of mine aha

Excellent trainer, he knows exactly what to do, and he's a beautiful rider. Bucks after the jump because he probably wants to just take off at a gallop, because that was fun.

my own horse used to do this bucking after his first jumps... he did it quite violently, oncy I fell off and had a concussion for a week. Why are they doing this? Is this kind of celebrating their own courage? Scorn if a cowardly rider (in my case) does not lead? Here the rider finally explains to me that its joy and fun... omg... here some say horses use to laugh with their hind legs. True. LOL. Mine must have loved jumping - a pitty, I was no hunter or jumper...

Yes hes fresh its refreshing to see your experience with him - I wouldn't dare tell someone like you what to do but may I suggest something after watching countless hunting vids thinking about taking a hunting vacation in Ireland - the thing I notice in them is the horses seem as stiff as broom sticks and actually not very supple at jumping I cringe watching kids on boards in the mud - my feet have gone cold. We used to have campdrafters who think about their job just like you said here - I realised the horses I rode many many years ago in England - didn't think they were bored and over bored. Humongous Irish Hunters came down and they were stiff - To this day I regret leaving the yard and if there was one thing I could offer it would be for the children's sakes - do Dressage - it supples the horses to handle themselves. Supple doesn't come from track road or jumping supple comes from circle serpentine bending slow western pleasure gives them brains to think with. Just watch the most of them jump stiff scares me spitless. You did amazing here with this greeny. God bless you and keep you safe always.

In my opinion, its way to wet to be riding. I wouldn't ride my horse in that. I'm not trying to be rude, it's just my opinion. :)
@ellenp53949 жыл бұрын
It's always wet and raining in England and Ireland, so we just have to crack on and get used to it! I'm sure none of these horses were at risk from it though and they all look to be having a good time!😊
@pdbabe8 жыл бұрын
+Ellen P you need to educate yourself on the spine of a horse that young .. that horse was getting too much too soon to process.
@ellenp53948 жыл бұрын
pdbabe I actually have a 6yr old myself which I have successfully produced to BE this year, so I don't think I need educating on that thanks :) all thats happening is rider taking his young horse out to have a play round some natural fences in a calm environment, so lets leave him to get on with it because he looks like he's having a good time and the horse is too.
