Hosea was the only one keeping everyone together until he died. Without him dutch got out of line and angry
@robertstaples32563 жыл бұрын
Even before he was killed Hosea was struggling to get through to Dutch. One could argue Dutch had always dismissed him as soon as Micah joined the gang, but definitely by the time of the St. Denis robbery. Not sure if it had ever been confirmed, but a theory was that Dutch suffered a head injury in the trolly crash; after that, he started to become really aggressive and pushing the gang to it's limits physically and "morally." Regardless, Hosea's death was certainly the final nail in the proverbial coffin for the gang. With him gone, the angel whispering in Dutch's ear also died, leaving only the demon in the other.
@tezwoacz3 жыл бұрын
@@robertstaples3256 The way I see it is that Dutch wanted a "romantic" outlaw life, rob rich, give to the poor, and prosper himself, but the more he tries and fails the more desperate he becomes, and in this desperation he pushes the gang to breaking point. The reason Micha is appealing to Dutch is not because he manipulates him somehow, but because Micha is the "ideal" outlaw version in Dutchs vision, high ego, high greed(desire to succeed), eagerness to do whatever it takes to get what he wants, those are the qualities Dutch likes about him, the reason Dutch doesent like Hosea, Arthur and John is because they dont want to be that "ideal" outlaw, Dutch was always the same, its just that harsh times pushed his "real" persona out.

0:56 Yes It would pass if Dutch listened to hosea Dutch also said he wanted more attention but did not want anyone to be going for John 2:09 Arthur in the later chapters was like hosea He would be so proud of Arthur

This video is a rollercoaster of emotions, I’m smiling and almost laughing sometimes, then sad at the foreshadowing and Hosea coughing and knowing that he’s right and it’s over...

Rockstar handled John's arc in RDR2 as well as they did Arthur's, they set him up to match his character in RDR1 *perfectly* . He was a like a surly 20yr. old fresh out his teenage years, and he became a Man by the end.

Ngl seeing John go full-deadbeat on Abigail and Jack was frustrating when you know what kind of man he was in RDR

Much like Arthur in the game, I preferred Hosea to Dutch from Day 1. There’s just something about Hosea and his wisdom that’s such a calming presence, especially in the contrast of Dutch’s smug attitude. Hosea doesn’t think himself higher than the rest of the gang and that’s what matters.

Thats what makes dutch such a better character tho.

I really liked Hosea he reminded me of a true cowboy in a way, wise and smart. Loved the outdoors. And much more.

Hosea’s wisdom was keeping the gang together. After he died, Dutch started to go all crazy and Micah started to manipulate him even more.

Hosea being the true father figure for both John and Arthur is truly such a beautiful part of the story that doesn’t get discussed enough, especially when Arthur talks about Hosea in his journal entries

and Jack. Hosea gave Jack the most important gift he could possibly have: learning how to read. Jack being a bookworm in the epilogue, you just gotta thank Hosea for that

They made these dialogues so well. Interesting how Hosea communicated better with John than Dutch. They both raised him but it’s like if one parent understands their kid a little more than the other

Hosea telling Marston to get out of the gang life due to his son does make something true, Arthur became Hosea, and seeing it rather than hearing it makes me proud of Arthur.

Crazy when Hosea mentioned the "old world" and the time flying by them. Jack Marston definitely would see the news of the Titanic sinking, World War 1 and 2, and by the time the atomic bombs dropped, he would only be 50 - all the while his childhood, he was riding around with cowboys and gunslingers.
