Deathless Iranian music that carries the light of Love will be heard at the Moscow Conservatory’s Great Hall again. Born from the magic formulas of the sacred chants of the Veda and the Avesta, as well as crystallized within the subtle atmosphere of Persian empires, this music has still astonished us with a stable combination of its unchangeable canon and contemporary sound.
The sound of Iranian classical music is going to play with new colors in the program to be presented by Hosein Nourshargh, an outstanding performer of avaz, and Ali Ghamsari, one of the most famous players on tar and other string instruments in today’s Iran, whose music has now been widely performed both inside and outside the country. Pieces by Ali Ghamsari will be presented in the concert together with some unpredictable discoveries of traditional avaz by the brilliant voice of Hosein Nourshargh. Not only are Siyavash Roshan, the ud player, and Kamran Montazeri, the percussionist who has already recited in Moscow with success, virtuosos in playing their instruments but also experts in the sophisticated art of avaz.
The string quartet-consisting of Alexey Gulyanitsky (violin), Vassily Kukharenko (viola), Paul Suss (cello) and Camilo Giraldo, a violinist who is our special guest from Medellín (Colombia),- is going to add some special flavor to this program.
