I would say pack that bag at 34 weeks. Mine was born at 35 weeks. Also, take a hair band or braid your hair if long cuz it will get tangled during labor. No need or time for a matted mess.

36 weeks is a great time to pack your bags, BUT, if you get the feeling to do it earlier, DO IT. I had a real strong feeling to pack my bag around 29 weeks with me second, and I'm so glad I did. It turned out we ended up in the hospital at 30 weeks and having our bag packed was a life saver. We live 3 hours away from the hospital we ended up at, so going back for the odd forgotten thing was NOT an option.

Also check with wherever you are birthing and see what they already provide. My hospital provided just about anything I could ever need. From tooth brushes to cell phone chargers to any snack you could imagine to a going home onside for baby in the right size that has their name and the basic info printed on it as they have someone who does that in the hospital. The only thing we brought was a hairbrush because I am picky about that, my glasses (they had contact cases/solution) and an outfit for me and my husband for the next day. I've heard of hospitals that don't even send you with diapers or baby supplies...we got a weeks worth of baby supplies from our hospital...some get nothing. Always call or tour and see what you need to take vs what they offer. It was great fo me because everything we needed for me, husband, and baby fit in a cinch sack. But hospitals can differ greatly.
