Yes honestly I think she’s helped so so many, I was drawn to her because I am myself in remission and when I listen to Romee I don’t feel so alone, don’t get me wrong my family and the Macmillan nurses have been absolutely amazing but to sit down in a quiet bedroom and put Romee on I feel I’m listening sometimes to myself sometimes to a friend if that makes sense, best wishes from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has been through this or has family battling this horrid disease xxxxxxx
@jlodegard92183 жыл бұрын
I stumbled upon your story and I was immediately drawn in. I admire your strength and your ability to share every step feelings and all. I had to keep up a positive and strong front(which was how i truly felt most of the time) all the time for my family who had a harder time with my cancer than I did. No one ever seen if I had doubts or if at any moment I was scared. But I got diagnosed with stage IIIB Hodgkin's Lymphoma when my youngest child was 5 mos old in Dec of 2000. I did chemo every 2 wks for 10 mos and my tumors were responding well and shrinking. About a month after treatment ended i had a pet scan. My pet scan results which were supposed to confirm that my cancer was gone instead confirmed that it had come back in all the same spots. Usually it comes back more aggressive with every relapse. Damn. And that quickly we were back at square one only fighting a more aggressive version of my cancer. So then came more and harsher chemo and then a stem cell transplant in June of 2002. And lucky for me my Dr was right in choosing the treatment plan he did because ive been in remission ever since!!! So congrats on your pet scan results. Im sending prayers and healing vibes to you from afar and watching each step of this journey and I look forward to the day that you give an update that says youre cancer free! Big hugs to you as well.

As a cancer patient myself it's completely unacceptable that your doctor FORGOT about you! It makes me so angry because they know full well the extreme anxiety a patient goes through waiting for the results. I have such an amazing team of oncologists that are so on top of everything for me it breaks my heart for you that you're not getting the same. We are our own advocates unfortunately so stay on every one of them and hold them accountable because after all it's only your life we're talking about here right. 🧡 wishing you the very best and hugs to you...

@@blackpantherqueen6981 I have an amazing team of doctors who are on top of everything and I love them all. And no i'm not even close to being a nightmare of a patient but extremely patient thank you very much! Try not to be so evil when replying to comments it doesn't suit you.
@plumdutchess3 жыл бұрын
@@blackpantherqueen6981 What part of her comment exactly gives you that impression?! It's unacceptable that a patient has to hunt down their own results to be able to continue treatment. They told Romee that she would get her results on monday, but that's when she would need to start chemo if it hadn't worked. OP was just making a comment about how it should have gone, based on her own experience. A team that communicates and works together for the patient. Good for you that you seem to have such confidence in the medical system, but it's not perfect. And people get brushed off and sent home, when their symptoms should be taken seriously. So, yes! You have to be your own advocate and stand up for yourself. Doctors may not be machines, but the entire system is run by machines. Computers will make sure you can avoid mistakes like this. Hell, even a desktop calendar will work. Plus, the fact that it has happened with Romee over and over shows how bad it is.

Sweet Romee, I could not be happier. When you started crying after saying "it's working", my eyes began watering as well. It's been a long journey and probably it will still be for a while, but this wonderful news has brought fresh air into your - and our - lungs. We're going to support you and root for you until the end of everything and even after. We are a community now, somehow even a family. We love you.
