Oh, Anna made me tear up when she got emotional over Becca being home! Also, from a nurse, remind the kids: IVs are not as scary because the needle does not stay in your arm! We just use the needle to put a little plastic catheter in, then the catheter just stays in. It can still be sore though, and a warm bath helps when it's swollen, followed by ice if it leaves a bruise. Becca was so brave!

I had my appendix rupture on me when I was 12. (I'm 28 now almost 29), somehow my body made a wall to protect me from the poison that I had for a week before my doctor's found out that it burst. I'm glad Becca is doing better! as well as Sarah and Joshua! I hope you all have a fun time on your trip.

下の二人はもしかしたらピンときてなかったかもしれないけど、アナちゃんは中学生だから理解できることが大人と同じだし、余計に心配だったのかな🥹 突然のことだと余計ですよね。 本当に子供たちが素直で、優しくて、無邪気で、抱きしめたくなる😂 ご両親の愛情のおかげですね。頭が上がりません。 ちなみにバリのウブドは楽しかったですよー！ジャングルと独特の雰囲気があっておすすめです！

Tip for Bali as an Australian (everyone goes to Bali for a holiday or finishing school celebration): don’t drink the tap water! Only drink bottled water, ask for no ice in your drinks. Drinking the water tends to give you Bali belly aka basically gastro! Have a good time

Another tip if you want to avoid it ( from another Australian ) just drink red Fanta there’s something in the dye that helps you if you get sick or stops you from getting sick

for removing shells on hard boiled eggs put them in a small container one at a time with a bit of water and shake them around gently and most of the shell should come off easily

Very fresh eggs can be hard to peel. I find it best to let them cool in cold water then i roll then between my hands breaking the shell and all the fragments come off as I peel off the membrane under the shell

Tip for travelling to Bali… drink red cordial while you’re there (has to be red) it will stop you from getting Bali belly (stomach sickness). Don’t know why it works, but it does!

Mom chan and Rebecca are hospitalized⁈I was very surprised. But I was a little relieved to see the smiles of the children. But I was impressed by the look on everyone's faces after they got home from the hospital. What especially resonated with me was the voice of Rebecca home? Rebecca home after Anna came home. Fans like me were happy too. It reminded me of family love that we Japanese have forgotten.

I'm not reading every comment here so I don't know if someone else has already mentioned it, but in Japan, we have a medical system called 高額療養費制度 or the High-cost Medical Expense Benefit in English translation. When your medical expenses exceed a certain amount, you can get some of your money back by claiming it on monthly basis. Usually in Japan, having common surgeries or getting hospitalized won't cost you all that much ultimately because of this medical system. Pls ask your Japanese friends to help you with the office procedure.

Besides, medical subsidy system is available for children under age of 18ish, so medical expenses for kids are cheap anyway, although this system is different in every city.

Tip for peeling eggs: dump out the boiling water and replace with cold water, immediately dump that out and replace with cold. We are trying to cool the eggs down quickly. Then if you use your fingers under the water, or under the tap, you should be able to peel the eggs cleanly and plus the water washes the bits of shell off

Or dump them into a bowl that has cold water and icecubes in it and wait for a minute, it will cool down completely

@@TsunaKimchi That works too if you arent in a hurry. My wife doesnt like cold eggs and Im always in a hurry. I find my way is a good compromise between detaching the membrane from the egg white, and still having warm-ish eggs. I'm almost to a point where I can get the entire shell off in one piece just moments after they are done cooking, and still eat it warm. Probably not something you want the kids to try without help though.

Some tips for Bali: - I found the main beach areas to be very touristy and not as relaxing. Ubud was a great place to stay away from crowds. - Kanto Lampo waterfall is beautiful, go in your swimming costume. - Walking rice paddy areas was great. - Tanah Lot at sunset is beautiful, if you have time for the drive there. - Monkeys - can be very aggressive and are not afraid to jump on people/bags. Consider rabies shots or just skip this attraction, if you get scratched you will waste time trying to get medical assistance. You can see the monkeys all around the outside of the park without going in. - If you dont have time to walk Mount Batur you can still see great views at restaurants nearby for an amazing meal Enjoy the trip!!! 😊

I lived in Singapore! I honestly found it very similar to japan: great public transportation, great 7/11s, a nice mix of urban and green space. I think that a lot of the tourist places are worth visiting. There are also a lot of great playgrounds scattered around, I definitely would recommend exploring fort canning park! There is a historical aspect as well as a nice little playground on the western side. Sending your family love ❤️

I am glad every thing turned out well in the end. Into each life some rain must fall. No tips for Bali or Singapore but if you want to make it easier to get the shell off a hard boiled egg pop it in cold water for a minute after taking it out of the pan.

As Indonesian if I experience bali belly, I eat this medicine (entrostop and norit) eat this medicine together, you can buy this medicine at pharmacy in Indonesia.
