Patrick McGoohan was a gorgeous sexy man - and that voice! Wow- a great actor and apparently a fine man . And definitely creative, talented, and intelligent. Can you you tell I am a fan....

He was so good looking...my 11 year old heart fluttered every week when his show Danger Man came on! Later...The Prisoner not only captured my heart...but my imagination as well ! The Prisoner debuted 50 years ago this coming 2017....wish one of the networks would have a tribute showing dedicated to the cast and crew...especially Mr Patrick McGoohan...for without his drive...imagination and determination...we wouldn't have this awesome television show ! Salute Patrick! Be seeing you, sir !

A masterclass in tongue-in-cheek overacting. I love it! (And he had impeccable diction.)

I'm willing to bet the actual stories weren't a patch on the introduction ;) Nice to know that some things are not lost. Just mislaid. Thanx for posting.

Great hosting by McGoohan! The Journey To The Unknown episodes in this TV movie were "Paper Dolls" and "The New People" - note the happy ending tacked on in his closing narration....

Yes - he is suitably sinister and scary in this. I also see echoes of the themes of The Prisoner in his references to power over the minds of others, and 'escaping the terror' at the end. I remember reading somewhere that in his childhood he used make his sisters listen to scary stories that he told them - so looks like he's re-living that part of his childhood here! His sisters must have been terrified!

Haven't seen this in years. McGoohan looks like he's really enjoying himself.

He's brilliant. Looks a bit tired and emotional. A rare gem nonetheless. I believe Joan Crawford and Sebastian Cabot also served as narrator for some other Journey to The Unknown episode splicings. Great stuff. A rare and utterly Unique talent. Fascinating to see him try the kind of gig his onetime director and mentor Orson Welles was doing in his sleep by this time. Great post . Many thanks

smcnicoll I found out recently he was tired and emotional quite a lot during his career, which quite surprised me as I'm always impressed with his acting. When you know that you can see it sometimes, especially in his later work. He was as tired and emotional as a newt during Scanners.

Great stuff - was wondering if I'd ever get to see this - his first work in 1968 following his post-Prisoner disappearance act. Of the two stories used here, the best by far is "The New People" (the 2nd one).

Do you happen to have the rest of this? I have the episodes of the British TV show this was made from, but they don't have the incidental music between scenes that was made for this TV-movie version. It was kind of inspirational for me when I saw these as a young musician and I'd like to see the whole thing again.

@sjbrez Joan Crawford had the honour of hosting 2. That honour should have gone to Patrick McGoohan --- The Greatest Actor Of All Time.' Ice Station Zebra' gives us a fascinating glimpse into an alternative universe in which McGoohan becomes 'A-list' and persues a career of blockbusters. No one else would have had a look in, so he did a magnanimous thing!
