You know, I'm so grateful too that they had Jack's girlfriend gracefully bow out of the way when she realised that Jack's in love with Sam, and even give advice to him looking out for his and Sam's happiness, instead of playing her as jealous or possessive for drama. Jack and Sam seem to have been handled so gracefully that compared to them, every other fictional relationship now feels like a toxic codependent mess.

It's hard to believe that the show is basically closing in on 2 decades (20 years!!!) since it was "new" in any sense. I miss it and not having new episodes. I'll probably be crushed when RDA and Tapping pass on. Brilliant, funny actor and actress. :-(

This is my absolute favorite Jack/Sam video. Most people put the focus on their big moments like the forcefield scene or the kiss in Window of Opportunity. But when they do that, they miss all the little moments in between that make their relationship so special. Without them, we wouldn't believe the big moments. In every episode, you can see how much they love and adore each other in little looks, smiles, and gestures. I mean, 2:17 - 2:25 just melts your heart. This video perfectly captures the joy they found in friendship, and also the tragedy that they knew they could never be more than that. It's so sad, but it's beautiful.

Another incredible Jack/Sam video. I never understood why the show never gave them a proper resolution, just endless teasing. I thought we were finally getting somewhere by the end of Season 8. But Richard Dean Anderson left the show after that.

I know, but Jack came back when he reprised his role in Atlantis. He made a cameo appearance in the pilot, when he handed over to the new crew, but then came back for one final hurrah, in tne two part episode, opposite Mr Woosley. On top of that, Sam came back also in Atlantis, again, she appeared in one episode, but then took command of Atlantis. Kind of makes you wonder what long term plans the producers had in mind, and did RDA and Amanda Tapping have it written into their contracts that they could come back? When you consider the number of times that Daniel died, returned, died, returned(you get the picture), the producers must have been beyond desperate to have him return, despite Michael Shanks leaving on more that one occasion over creative differances(which usually results in a character being killed off for good). Having said all that, they could have given them a proper resolution as you say, wouldnt have tarnished anything the characters did.

Let's thank that they were never able to mess them up 😅 no offence to them, but every time they were allowed to show romantic relationship outside one episode arc, they kinda fumbled it.
