The GMTII in Everose is a stunning watch in person. It holds the middle ground beautifully between the bling of yellow gold and the popularity of steel. The Everose is not a daily driver. At night or paired with black, brown or darker tones is when the watch really shines. Thank you for this well-done review.

7:03 - I would counter-bet on this. I am sure the Everose Rootbeer would be considered the most expensive one as it looks the most classy by far (at least in person). There are many people wearing cheap „yellow gold“ look watches, so the color looks pretty cheap nowadays. That’s my experience and the one of my colleagues and friends. However, sure, the Smurf would take third place either way, as it absolute understatement and looks like just another 10k steel Rolex.

The reason it's called "grey gold" is to distinguish it from "white gold" in that it's an actual alloy of rhodium and gold, the rhodium isn't just plated on like it is with white gold, this way when the watch inevitably is scratched you never have to worry about having it replated, it's the same color throughout the metal. It has nothing to do with there being a difference in color between it and white gold, it distinguishes the way it's made.

Chris, one question. The matte dial on the blue rolex ( two tone or gold ) is not reserve for the white gold only is it? I have a two tobe sub and i have the matte dial... its more rare than the normal shinny blue, and a lot better looking.

Ever heard of a silicon hairspring, anti-magnetism, COSC certification? ETA is a mass production movement that sells to masses, Rolex makes their own parts. Are Rolex movements better than other manufacturers? There are watch makers that make a better movement. Depends on who you’re talking about. That said, Rolex are incredibly resilient and accurate. Not necessarily something to be displayed though.

Frankly, Rolex is really the only watch that matters to most people. High quality. Dependable. Wearable. Value retention. APs are for ladyboi chasers and are fragile. Patek is great, but far less recognizable and far harder to sell if you need to. Omega makes a fine PO, but let’s face it-no one really cares.
