Hot Cams Stage 2 camshafts

I bought a 1996 Honda XR250R. The previous owner says his mechanic friend installed a Hot Cams Stage 2 camshaft. Now it is time for me to rebuild the top end. Do you recommend OEM valve springs with the stage 2? Should I switch to a synthetic motorcycle oil? Where can I look for more information - Should I call Hot cams to ask questions?

I've realised that on a 2008 or my 2010 yz250f that if I moved my exhaust cam one tooth forward the bike had better performance even on the quads

Hi, alot of people recommend putting a stage 1 intake and stage 2 exhaust on the yz250f. Would you recommend this and would it work on a 2010 yz250f, I ride half track and half trail??? Thanks

That's funny come ready to drop in?? spent 200 on a stage 2 and didn't even come with the bearings or the gear.. so ready to drop in my ass maybe after you throw more money into it and have the bearings (that weren't included) pressed on and you are able to reuse your gear.. pretty disappointed.

Something must be wrong with yours then. I have a 05 Honda crf450r with a stage 1 cam and mine is perfect no difference in noise.

Sounds like your valve clearances are off.
