What compression did you go with? Doing a similar build on my 01 mines 11:1 and I’m doing some mild porting on the head with the cam. Rossier R4 and probably an FCR carb. Should be a little 450 killer

I did a 416 kit with a stage 3 cam. I don’t have near the bottom end that I used to have so I think I’m gonna put the stock cam back in it for a while

Well are there only one type of stage 2 cams? Or is there variations. Stage 1,2,3 doesn’t tell me anything about the lift or. Does anyone know what to set the valve clearance if you have stage 2?

Stage 3 absolutely will. It's made for a race motor you'll be rebuilding every other race.

Well I have an issue here it's something that I've been trying to figure out for some time and I hope it isn't a stupid question but I want between bottom and top end torque because I prefer enduro and mild open fast track .will a stage 2 cam suffice for my preference

Who knows of ots neccesary tp jet down woth hot cams based on longer valve opening and duration. I have an 08 and am at 35 pilot 180 main 2 turns out runs and idle good with a 42 and 45 pilot the best idle was acheived woth fuel screw all the way in. Any insight would be great

Would a stage 1 really help with the low end? I’d like my CRF250R to have a bit more low end on the trails and not stall so easily. (I didn’t get a trail bike because I want the power of the R.) Thanks for any advice!

I'm not sure how much of a low end gain their stage 1's will give you over your stock R cams.. it may be worthwhile, Idk. But I would recommend a heavier flywheel if you're going to be lugging the engine in lower rpm, this will make it harder to stall in those low speed/rpm situations, and also smooth out the throttle response so it's not quite as twitchy. Swapping out the throttle cam to one with a longer throw might help a bit too.

It says Taiwan on the bearing race not the cam itself. I think almost all bearing and races come from Taiwan.

It's very small like only a few hp, but it will improve your cam life and make it run better over time as long as you check your valve clearance. In all my bikes I run stage 2 hotcams its one of my bare minimums

@@aenarcos7021 are u talking just purely what I recommend for cams? I recommend the stage 2. Helps with over rev so that u can really let it romp on the dunes. I've been on dunes a couple times and I know how much you need the extra rpms to rev out on some things

@@aenarcos7021 compared to other upgrades to improve longevity it's not that much. That's the main reason I use them is because they last so much longer and are just nice to have in ur motor. On my 16 yz250f I have a 270 kit so I have a new cylinder piston etc, but I always do the hotcams with stronger valves and rods and stuff, then I do a full fmf exhaust. That's what's on my bike for my motor, and I'll leave it like it is. That's what me and my buddies always do, the big bore is optional but the cams with better valves/rods etc is necessary. Exhaust obviously is expensive and another optional thing, but youd be surprised just what a couple hundred dollars inside a motor to small parts can do
