I do like how Rajang both complements and contrasts this trinity theme with Deviljho and Bazelgeuse. All three are renowned as above-apex predators with distinctive empowered states, but whereas those two are notoriously invasive and aggressive, killing just about everything around them, Rajang keeps to itself in remote regions, only really dangerous if provoked/encountered on its home turf.

Rajang is nomadic like the other two. Just he was released before any type of invader mechanics existed in Monster Hunter. I’d love to see him come to world and complete the nomadic superpredator trinity, turf waring with Deviljho and Bazelgeuse (and maybe as a bonus, Kirin).

@@lenardstarks5891 Almost all the time to be honest. When on your own, his beam attacks are all free damage and he has certain tells that you start to notice the more you go against him. Like after doing the 7 punch combo he likes to hop back then immediatly follow with a spin. Although I don't use it, grab tremor resist and you get a significant amount of windows to work with. The few times it does go wrong is if he has his red arms and slams you into a wall with them so it's an instant KO but that's about it.

Didn't expect this so soon. Though Gammoth was next to finish the Deviant 4. Also, I had this big idea I was going to suggest, where you started this episode off with Cotton in full Rajang armor and he gave the excuse that he was just doing random hunts and didn't realize Rajang was a new monster, so he just killed him and liked the fight so much he killed 20 of them to make the armor because it looked cool and he didn't want to tell you because you'd be upset. Ofcourse, you'd scream at how upset EVERYONE was and DEMAND that he go back in time to see his first impressions and have Rajang make him his bitch like everyone else, and THEN cut to the actual fight. But that would have taken so much setup since after the fight you'd have to farm Rajangs to get him the armor to record a funny gotcha prank opening , and I don't think you'd put yourself and Cotton through that much pain for a joke and subverting expectations.XD

The only reason that Diablos/Black Diablos may go either way is because they're otherwise the same monster type (i.e. interchangeable). Same reason why Teostra isn't always the one on top when doing its Bond attack with Lunastra.

Unpopular opinion: You should have done the Elderfrost episode before Rajang, that way the Fated Deviant Four would be placed back to back to back to back. On a more serious note, G-rank Rajang gave my cat only a little trouble when hunting him (and we FINALLY managed to break a Rajang tail for the first time ever), whereas in MH4U Rajang (also G-rank) is currently still undefeated.

In my experience, cutting a Rajang tail almost impossible (second only to Chameleos's tail). Also, remember how Furious Rajang _doesn't_ have a tuft on its tail? i.e. it was already cut off, but instead locked Rajang INTO super saiyan mode
