From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot. We still watch them on a TV, even if it's not from a broadcast network. So yes, they're still TV shows. But this aired on NBC. So it was also a Broadcast network TV show.

I think Ted danson has said that he has... mixed feelings about his character on Cheers. On that show he played a bit of a... well, sexist-adjacent-at-best character and doesnt love remembering being that guy, even for pretend. But even knowing that, seeing him flick that towel over his shoulder just warms my soul with nostalgia-flames.

I made it about 7 seasons into Cheers and by then I kept thinking "Wow, Sam is a bad person" and "I can see why Frasier got his own show"

@@HuntingViolets Yeah no fair enough. It has been about a decade and a half since i watched Cheers, and I was a teenager at the time. Hedging my condemnation a bit seemed like a good idea given the vagueness of the memories.

I had a near death experience where things actually went slow-mo and I was so sure I was dead, after a shot of panic and explatives, I was just like "well.. That was it" and just accepted I was dead. And then I somehow escaped unscathed. My car went over a cliff, but I was caught by trees and only my car was messed up... And the trees. I remember dead silence, then the sound of high rpms coming back into my awareness and as my car started to nosedive, a very loud breaking sound as I broke tree branches and my car righted itself then watching my tire fly off before the car was surrounded by a giant cloud of dirt and I slid for a while before stopping and just sitting in shock.

I think they're still called TV shows regardless of whether you stream them. You can watch them on a TV, after all, as well as a laptop. And it's kind of like a lot of things keep old names even though they don't apply (but this one still does). You can also say just "show," I suppose. We always did that too.

Taylor Spliff is the reggae Taylor Swift cover band. The Good Place was on NBC and was created by Michael Shur along with Parks & Recreation and Brooklyn 99, plus he wrote and appeared on The Office.
