Thank you for all the videos. I have the Go press n foil, but had some frustration because I was too impatient. You have inspired me to get it out and practice, practice, practice. Thanks, Nancy.

Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year, Nancy. As always, a greatly informative video. I am a die hoarder. I have used my extensive collection to cut them out of cardstock on my Gemini Jr. I place the foil pretty side down; die cut right side down; 2 cardstock shims; the magnetic plate, then the top plate; medium 45 seconds. (I have mostly other brands of foil, not the Gemini, hence the hotter longer heating cycle). The result is a beautifully foiled cutout design. This process allows me to utilize all the dies I never seem to use.

Thank you Lynne, I will try that. Happy New Year!!

Honestly I liked the distressed look of the one you said was overfoiled! You could come above that with a raised die cut sentiment and it would make a pretty background.

OO oo OO hand up and waving. Figured out how to use regular dies & not have the thin double lines !!!! First cut out several layers of SMOOTH kitchen foil (NOT HEAVY DUTY) cutting side up to keep the foil in, fill/overfill that space between the cutting lines. Might have to let it heat a little longer but, depending on how smooth you keep the kitchen foil to start with, you can get excellent results. edit- Not secure in my ability to explain the process so feel free to ??? comment.

Have you ever tried using the magnetic vent covers they sell at Home Depot and Lowe's as a magnetic cutting shim? They are thinner than the magnetic mat but I wonder with regular dies if it would hold them in place and yet not risk cutting. They are really inexpensive and can be cut down to size. I use them to store my dies on. Just had that idea as I watched this video with regular dies. I love your videos by the way I learn so much.

Why can you not foil with embossingfolders with the gemini? As you can regulate heat better with the gemini hotpress, is there no way? I want to know cause i have a gemini because of hand, arm and wrist problems and STILL doubt if buying the Foulpress is ok, as i can't buy many foil plates because of my budget 😢.. So so curious (btw thanx sooo much 4 your amAzing channel and all your FAB tips, you are so fabulous 👌)

It's too tight with the Foilpress machine and embossing folder. Not recommended.

Can you foil ok acetate and vellum?
@NancyStamps Жыл бұрын
Yes as long as it is heat resistant acetate. Spellbinders has nice Glimmer acetate. The vellum you will have to practice with.

Thanks for all your info, its great inspiration.. My machine must be tighter than yours, when using the magnetic pad to hold the die in place face down, it cut into the pad. Most likely as I was using more time since I was using TODO foil and the pad got hot. I switched to the metal plate and stuck the die in place on it with painter tape (looped the tape unto itself). Thing I learned is you have to tape the die in place on both underside ends in order for it to foil evenly, who would have though a tiny piece of tape would effect the foiling so much!! The tape peels off the metal plate and die easily. By the way different subject. Any thoughts on the Brother Scan and Cut DX125?? Have a great year and keep teaching us.
@NancyStamps5 жыл бұрын
Are you using the Gemini Jr or full size Gemini? I have a silhouette, so no justification to spend money on the Brother scan n cut, but I would love to have one someday.
@mariannedamkroeger61235 жыл бұрын
@@NancyStamps Have the Jr. I too have the Cameo and an older model of Circuit Air. Been watching videos of the Scan and Cut and think I am hooked, hopefully won't be sorry like I was with the TODO.
@NancyStamps5 жыл бұрын
@@mariannedamkroeger6123 agreed ToDo was a waste of money! I can use my Silhouette and PC to scan and cut stamped images. Then I save them for future "blanks".

Hi Nancy, I really enjoy watching you! I have a question I’m hoping you can answer..my plate form keeps bowing in the middle? I sandwich the way they suggest. What do you think I’m doing wrong? Thank you for your time. Shari Skelton.
@NancyStamps5 жыл бұрын
are you using the regular Gemini or Gemini Junior? Also yes, reduce your shims, it might be too tight and keep your platform from "making contact" until you are ready. Don't let it sit plugged into the base or it will over heat. I also heard many people put the warm platform UNDER their Gemini machine and the weight keeps it flat.
