It's very cool that you posted this. I just received my Hot Mod evo roughly two weeks ago, straight from the manufacturer, who modded it for me, but have yet to try it, so I couldn't wait to hear this clip. And, WOW, and it sounds absolutely perfect...exactly how I envisioned it. You nailed the trick to this. You've got it dialed into where the amp is just starting to break up, and it sounds spectacular. More bite, punch, articulation, and mids. It's almost like it's not really higher gain, it's tighter, with more punch. Now, I'm REALLY can't wait to install mine. This sounds killer!

@@oldguyjammin9732 With the holidays here, and so much going on with a studio build, that I damn-near forgot I purchased that, then saw this video. Not just a great video, but very inspiring knowing it sounds this good. For what it's worth, the designer of this HotMod (who's got a few videos floating around YT) would love to know this video exists. We went back and forth about how it would sound, and he said he wasn't 100% sure, but that "theoretically" it should work great. The video I reached out to him on was the JCM2000 video, which sounds incredible, btw. You should look that up and share this link. I'm sure he'd appreciate knowing there's a decent demo of it with the LS. It's the only one on YT, as far as I know. Thanks again for sharing.👍

I don’t understand the purpose of this mod. I have a Little Sister. It has a three-position gain switch. This amp is clearly being played in the lowest gain setting for the mod. But the highest gain setting produces more and better-sounding gain. Why…?

That’s fair, but what I find with the higher gain settings on the LS is more noise and more compression, where as with this mod the gain tone is more open, less compressed and even a bit brighter. It’s the 100W JCM tone I’ve been looking for in a 20 watt amp. It’s what I was looking for when I bought the Studio Classic JCM 800 (20W) that was released around 2021. Being that the LS has only 2 preamp tubes, I figured it’d be a great amp for this gadget. I’m really pleased with it.

The amp was actually on the second highest gain setting.

Sounds crap, think I'll be leaving my sister be for now. My DS-1 into Hiwatt Tube Overdrive into Sonic IR into Fender Champion 100 XL beats that fuzzy shit hands down. £350 my set-up, how much yours?

Sounds great! The drink on the amp? Not so great @_@ lol... I remember a time when a guy lent us one of his fantastic boutique amps for a session and the guitar player put a drink, sweating condensation like this, on it and he flipped on the guy and I don't blame him. It was a stupid move...
