A future classic, will certainly go up in value in the future due to scarcity and sheer value. Not for everybody by any means but if you have the wrist and the budget to pull it of, it's definitly one of the most outstanding Omega's ever made.

Nice one Bruce, I can see why you might want to hang on to this one. That dial is out of this world, literally looking down on it. The layout is very well thought through with the color coded city names clearly identifying if they have daylight saving times as you say, simple but very useful. An unusual piece that pinged my radar from your video with Random Rob last week. I'm sure it looks incredible in the flesh. Thank you for the review Bruce.

Bruce, I just bought this watch when I was travelling in Porto. Absolute stunner. It stands out in the watch roll between the Rolex SeaDweller, Explorer II and the SBGJ235. I wore it the moment I had the bracelet adjusted at the boutique and when I’m not wearing it, I have it on my desk so that I can look at it. This watch has switched off the Rolex-FanBoy light in me. I have developed a new respect for Omega. Price, quality, aesthetics….wow.

Great video, I have never seen this at the AD here in Kuwait. I was really close to buying the FC worldtimer but passed on it the last second. This watch is great and the steel is better than the gold; I agree with you on that. I would like to see this in person. I am currently debating on selling my AT white dial for a green one....we will see, my dilemma.

Agree about the bracelet, I don’t get why no micro-adjustment on the fly on a ’traveller’ watch. On the other side the Omega leather/rubber strap with the deployant clasp is the best I can found. So clean, easy to use and confortable.

I am tempted to add a world timer, and this one specifically, to my budding collection. But then what if Congress passes the Sunshine Protection Act? This would put the US on permanent DST. So I guess those US city names would have to be painted for a third distinction among the cities. I wonder if Omega would offer such a corrective service, and how much they might charge for it.

This is what's great about Omega. There is probably no major commercial reason to go and make this watch but they did it and it probably took a lot of time to design and manufacture.

Nice review. I own this watch and for me, the only draw back is the non-adjustability of the bracelet. I may pick up the rubber strap because i think it looks great on that as well.

@@hectorcastrejon hard for me to say… never tried on the bracelet version, and I have a flat 7.5+ inch wrist. The bracelet does have a female end link. It might make it look smaller since the blue strap color contrasts the case vs just having the bracelet in a matching metal finish. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

To me Omega is on par with Rolex and in many ways better, so many cool watches whereas Rolex is very conservative, Omega is like BMW and Rolex a Rolls Royce image but not performance or cool factor IMHO

Yes, it's also jump hour adjustment like the normal 8900. The 24 hour disc at the center is adjustable to match the time on each of the 24 cities around the watch.

Pulling the crown out 3 clicks hacks and adjusts the minute hand. Rotating the minute hand will also move the hour hand, and the time disc. Pulling out the crown 2 clicks will adjust the hour hand, which is jump hour.

It's an absolute stunner, but I gotta say, this is yet another watch that guys like me that are under 7" really gets us frustrated. I'd buy it if I could wear it. And there are SO many watches that fall in this category. It's an issue for a big portion of the watch community.

If the L2L is smaller than your wrist span (across the top), you’re fine. Remember, wrist size matters but wrist SPAN is more important.

11:02 thats definitely a downside. The ability to micro adjust my seamaster is so important. Some days you want it tight then other times you want to loosen it a bit. The seamaster clasp is awesome compared to this

I tried on the watch at a nearby Omega Boutique, and I found it to be a little too thick (14 mm) for my taste. I guess if I was going to spend close to 10K on a watch, it had to be perfect and if it had a 13mm thickness instead of the see-through caseback, I would have bought it. I think the design and usage is more akin to a refined dress watch with the thin bezel and felt that the thickness just didn't go with the design, and may be too thick to wear it with a suit or a dress shirt in my opinion. If they placed a ceramic 24 hour bezel, a 14 mm thickness wouldn't feel to out of place and I would wear it like a cool diver or a sailing watch. Rolex knows how to package a GMT watch in 40 mm and 12 mm thick case and they are killing it. Come on Omega!

Umm ... no ... the SkyDweller is not a world time. It has a GMT function and an annual calendar. The fact that there’s two complications running simultaneously add to the appeal of the SkyDweller. There are even more reasons why the SkyDweller sells at double it’s retail value. By comparison, the Omega drops in value up to 25% as soon as you leave the store so I don’t understand in what capacity “it kicks SkyDweller’s ass”. Have you ever worn a SkyDweller? Your comparing 2 watches at opposing ends of the scale, a rather dismal comparison by which no Omega could compete. Instead, you could compare this Omega to a very old Explorer 2 40mm and dollar for dollar, that would be worthy of a discussion. Though most people would still buy the old Rolex Explorer 2 and they do, if you compare the sales statistics of those two watches.

In fact any WorldTimer complication beats any GMT one. 24 different time zones against 3 different time zones. I mean…. And if you see the AquaTerra movement METAS certified beats any Rolex one. But that’s a conversation you’re not ready to have if you keep thinking Rolex is better than Omega. I have a Submariner (which btw it doesn’t have AR coating so the dial looks bad) and I have a SkyDweller and this AquaTerra beats both. Anywho if you think is better go for it and spend 6k more or so who cares

Nothing you wrote here proves Rolex Skydweller or Explorer 2 is a better watch. All you've talked about is resale value as if that actually proves what is the better functioning watch. Rolex has 100% brand recognition, so people want them so they can show they have arrived. THAT is why they increase in value so much, cause they can't be had in the AD so people have to pay more to get the status symbol of their choice on the grey market.
