It blows my mind how much companies charge for candles! I am a small time candle maker. I can say when making small batches its not cheap so making a candle that size with high quality ingredients I could still make a profit! ( my candles have amazing throw too!!!). I can only imagine what a company who can make them in bulk is making an insaneeeee profit!!!

@@Omg_sade Aww thank you! Right now I just make really small batches and give them out to family and coworkers ( they keep telling me to open an Etsy shop or such!). I am thinking about it because I am proud that I have worked hard to develop wax melts and candles that can pack a nice punch! I live in the UK. One day if I start selling I will come back to this thread and give an update for you! It does take a bit of work to get the throw right as well as supplies yet these companies that can produce on a grand scale are as we say "taking the piss" out of their customers. I bet that is the same for perfume! Yet I am a sucker for a quality perfume even knowing the markup is insane!!! xx

oh also re: lush people say the newly released chelsea morning perfume reminds them of a mash-up between super milk and sticky dates and it's one of their cheapest perfumes so something to consider!! AND for anyone who likes neroli and orange blossom, another great conditioner-slash-hair perfume from lush is happy happy joy joy. it's an actual in-shower conditioner but it makes your hair smell like a mediterranean summer for DAYSSSS omg

Lush DID do a very limited edition Super Milk fragrance last year in the UK! They are NOTORIOUS for discontinuing fragrance! It drives me insane!!! I hope they bring it back internationally! I love the hair product!!!

Every time you bring up your deodorant struggles I will never stop recommending crystal deodorant to you Lauren! No irritation, no white marks, no underarm residue, extremely affordable, long-lasting, and sustainable, and because it's antibacterial it ACTUALLY works! It does not keep you dry, no deodorant (versus an antiperspirant) does, but it WILL keep you odor free for 24 hours. Can't recommend it enough and I really think it could be the solution you're looking for!

I also was invited to take that survey & when I got the email about the free hand cream almost every single option was out of stock. I decided to wait, then promptly forgot all about it. Luckily, I still had about 2 weeks to redeem so I was able to get it. Phew! (what a crazy expensive item to get for free!)

I think you should head into Lush and smell Chelsea Morning. I think you’ll really like it, especially the dry down, which is a spicy, gourmand vanilla. Way more complex than the price tag would suggest

I LOVE Vanilla Sin, I got it as soon as I smelled it and that’s pretty rare for me and Love Notes immediately reminded me of Byredo’s Bal d’afrique.

Since you love both sticky dates and supermilk, maybe check out Lush's new perfumes, especially Chelsea morning (and for a smoky vanilla, Turmeric latte which they brought back for Christmas). Or of course everything sticky dates since it's currently also available in a body lotion and spray

I was pretty jazzed for the release of Reve, and picked it up on launch day. To me it smells like a combo of 2 of my favourites - Glossier You (creamy, musky, soft, gentle, round, cloudy skin scent) and Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy (juicy juicy juicy rich ripe red fruits and thick vanilla whipped cream). Definitely a good time of year to release, it is a little more rich and deep without being heavy or too serious. It smells very nostalgic to me. I was scared to pick up Doux because I thought it sounded like it might be sharp or resinous or smokey but the way you describe it sounds like a dream!

I feel like the same way about Vanilla Sin. It’s almost exactly what I want, but the cherry just feels a little medicinal and screechy. I still like it because the gourmand notes are so good, but it’s just not my favorite.

lush already came out with the super milk shower gel but it was limited edition.. tbh smelled amazing in the shower but the moment you stepped out the smell was gone, didn't stay in the skin at all. I think they also launched the super milk perfume but don't know if that was also limited edition. I'm sure they will release a limited edition body lotion or body spray at some point.

i really like rêve!! definitely not super gourmand but the sweetness of the fruit works so much better on my skin than the pepper/iris combo in the OG you. it's a deep fruity skin scent and i don't have anything like it.

Geezzz I am going to leave a million comments lol! I really like the vanilla suede Ariana. The price point really jumped yet you can tell the better quality in the ingredients or oils. Its lovely but for some reason does not last long enough. It is lovely and it seems vanilla suede is very on trend lately! I have seen it in hair products and other things!

I just got decants of the new Glossier perfumes and I have to say I am in love! My favorite is still the original You but Doux is a strong runner-up and I liked Reve more than I thought I would, as I am not much into gourmands or overly sweet scents. Sadly, they don't sell them where I live (I live in Chile) but I might just import them some day!

Honestly, if you want to try some impressive fragrances for $20-30, I would STRONGLY recommend you check out the new Pacifica fragrances, specifically the ones based on something they call Aromapower which is allegedly “backed by neuroscience” but nonetheless they smell incredible. I bought one called Montana Sky because of how blown away I was. The others that smell really good are Silver Moon and Dream Moon which have really good reviews. The reason I support these so much is because they are $27 each and they are 100% made from natural raw materials and even then they smell incredible. Like very high end fragrance houses. They also smell unlike anything else I have ever smelled before. They are formulated to significantly improve one’s wellbeing, which I can attest to that. Another great thing is that these fragrances are considered unisex even leaning more masculine. I know a lot of females haven’t universally embraced these newer Aromapower fragrances but me being “straight” (don’t like these kinds of labels) a millennial man in and native to Texas, I find these fragrances incredible. The ONLY downside is they don’t have super long wear times but I find it to be okay, I am sure using only natural raw materials really makes it challenging plus the more people use, the more they sell… This company is also female owned and probably the most impressive startup in the beauty industry as they are not owned by a massive corporation and are really human rights focused with price points that are accessible by all people. They sell in Ulta and a few other stores and many of the Ulta locations have testers out of their fragrances (especially the newer ones). I know this sounds like an ad but I am not associated with the company at all, I just like to share with others when I find a gem!

1. The Glossier Doux is my every day scent! Just wish it lasted longer tbh. Its very reminiscent of Santal but warmer and creamier. Reve smelled like a cheap body spray you could get at Target. idk 2. VERY interested in LUSH Super Milk (I am dying for more milky forward fragrances) 3. Completely agree with the Rare Beauty switching up...bought the biotin body & hair spray and at times I was obsessed then other times it was one of my least liked scents and wanted to smell anything BUT that. Its so weird and I could never decide if I actually like it or not so I'm curious about the EDP version...

I saw Glossier Doux in Sephora today and got super excited bc I LOVE all the notes listed on the display. I got a tester strip and sprayed. Couldn't smell anything!! I sprayed it again and still couldn't smell anything! I asked my mom to try to smell it and she didn't get it either. Super disappointing bc the notes are my favourite ever.
