Commercial grower here. Try these bibb lettuce: A) muir. Very heat tolerant. Butter head. B) sparx/holon. Huge romaine hearts. C) Alkindus if you like red.

First year for me having raised beds. I put down cardboard, then partially decayed logs from our woods, sticks, partially broken down compost, then a layer of good soil that we purchaed. It worked out so well. Hopefully everything will break down and enrich the soil. I enjoyed the visit to Brad's parent's home and the hot pepper test. So nice of you to include them in your videos. They always seem willing to help out when they can. Hoping to see a bouquet making video. I never grow tired of watching the old ones but a new one would be fun.

Have your in-laws try and make beet leaf buns with cream sauce ...so delicious ! Some people call rhem beetniks as well. Its bun dough that you wrap a young beet leaf around and then bale in the oven and then a dill cream sauce gets poured over them when they come out of the oven.

Your in-loves have a beautiful garden. He does like hot peppers, I would not try them like you guys did....even though I like hot peppers but not the real hot ones. Maybe with food. He has a good stomach, mine would probably hurt. Great to see you all! Blessings 💞🙏🏻🙏🏻

Years ago we grew ghost peppers. In November it was pretty must just a green stick, we usually burn everything back in the fall and let it rot on the ground. Literally maced my gf with just the stems lol.

You should drink milk after the pepper to “cool” your mouth…the casein protein in it neutralizes the capsaicin in the hot pepper

You are a brave soul to try all those hot peppers, Nicole!👍 I can’t do hot. A little cayenne in burrito meat. A tiny bit of jalapeño. Poblano is my preferred pepper when it comes to hot. Don’t even want banana peppers. Yes, I’m a wuss when it comes to heat….even Tabasco is not for me. Your in-laws garden is magnificent. She just has to try the beet greens. They’re the best. 🥰

Lovely garden! My super sweet 100’s are also large, no clue why we didn’t do anything special for them. Our peppers are doing great, but we did notice a normally mild jalapeño was particularly spicy - not sure if being planted next to the Carolina reaper had anything to do with that. 🤷🏻♀️
