I like how this song plays to the guilt of hot rod and Rodimus....he regretted his actions then, and this song reminds us that he still does now. Rodimus represents that only through overcoming tragedy and learning from the mistakes that no transformer is perfect. If a turbo revving young punk like him can come back stronger....than maybe others can too

This is why ever since i discovered his existence back in 2019/2020 he became my fav autobot from all, outside he's a BIT more approachable and seems to like integrate anyone new to the team he's the living form that no one should've perfect to carry the matrix, he blames himself for Optimus death but the matrix still chose him as the next Prime. Sadly on series they focused more on Prime than Rodimus but in comics his development is slow but notorious how he learns from mistakes and becames a better leader for the Lost Light crew even if he still carries his doubts and fears of being a leader

I like the dynamic of how the song can be split into three distinct segments, each being for before, becoming, and after he has become a Prime. In the first, it is Hot Rod singing about how he blames himself for Optimus' demise, but doesn't even have too much time to mull over it much, because Unicron is on his way. In the second is his realization that even though he blames himself, the crisis at hand needs his attention more and that someone has to rise and fight, so he takes it upon himself. And the final part, with a new voice to go along with it, portrays his transformation into Rodimus Prime and his revitalized resolve, still blaming himself for Optimus' demise, but ultimately using it as his drive to be better than he was before and do everything in his might to atone for his sins, stepping up as the leader the Autobots may not want but need at this current moment in time. Even without all the themes though, this track is fucking epic!
