Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember that hivers have a reduced chance of getting hit in the stomach because the model is thinner than the other races.

Oh my gosh, you're right. I checked the wiki and hiver's stomach hit rate is over 50% lower than a greenlander's stomach hit rate.

Personally ever since my first run I've refused to have more than like, 1/4th of my squad be Sheks specifically because of their abhorrent swimming speed. The Swamps and the Floodlands both become near impassable with Shek on your party as your stuck sitting there and waiting for up to 5 minutes to cross a small stream. God forbid you try and cross the southern wetlands with them. Legend say that a Shek baby was sent out to swim to raptor island. That Shek died at the ripe old age of eighty seven just as he reached the half way mark.

Skeletons could walk underwater to a continent a thousand miles away, on the other side of the moon, before a Shek with 100 swimming could cross a small stream. Forget making it to Armor King with one, that ain't happening. It's for that reason that the Shek you can recruit in Squin as well as Seto are the only Shek I usually recruit, and most of the time my finished squad doesn't include Shek, they stay at the base as muscle. I have as many as five skeletons, two scorchlanders, at least two greenlanders (one usually being Griffin), and Beep. When I'm really late game I sometimes add Espher, but I don't tend to hit Tengu's Vault until I've really established myself, unless for RP reasons. Green stays at my base as a sniper. Usually in my endgame squad, I have Burn heavily armored using an Edge 3 Falling Sun, Sadneil using martial arts, Agnu taunt tanking using a Foreign Sabre, a reprogrammed sniperbot sniping, Mad Cat-Lon doing the same as Burn, with his old rotted out armor replaced with Masterwork samurai armor, my Scorchlanders both use katanas, one with a Topper and Katana and the other with a Nodachi and Ninja Blade, Griffin rolls with a Paladin's Cross and Short Cleaver, and an armor setup similar to the paladins but with the pants replaced with Samurai Legplates and blackened chainmail and a blackened chainmail tagelmust because it looks cool to have the black on white look, my squad leader tends to be a Greenlander, usually is a high dex glass cannon using an Edge 3 Falling Sun and Masterwork KLR limbs, and has a Meitou Longsword off of Valamon. Beep is a max strength industrial lifter arm Fragment Axe user (meitou axe gained by pickpocketing Esata, heavy save scumming often required), usually with KLR legs because unfortunately there are no lifter legs to make an even more insane strength rating. Beep really is the strongest!

Skeletons of course are too powerful. Fogmen, cannibals, animals wont eat them, and they can survive anywhere, any weather without food. When you have skeletons in your party, they should be the main tanks with the best gear and weapons with taunt on, always. And make sure that skeletons can heal themselves with repair kits themselves until they build up a high robotic skill, they will become utterly unstoppable and completely independent.

Skeletons have been my forward gate guards in bases so I don't have to worry about food, and just focus on repairs. The lack of head and feet armor is what prevents me from just bringing them into my expeditions, not to mention the incidents involving turret friendly headshots. Instead the Shek are my Expedition Tanks. For non-hazard routes, Tin Cans are used in place of Crab Helmets to squeeze as much damage reduction to build toughness and defense

Honestly Greenlanders only getting those specific three bonuses kinda sucks and I feel does not perfectly fit with the lore but meh, whatcha gonna do? I guess there main benefit is if you roll up anywhere with Greenlanders your far more likely to get along with people, even modded in factions then with Shek, Hivers etc. Their essentially the Elder Scrolls Imperials, there good at the unlisted/nonexistant stat of diplomacy and empire management and you dont need to make special accommodations/resources for them compared to other races. If you get a hiver, there gonna become a cyborg, if you get shek, there gonna ruin your resource economy, if you get skeletons you need repair kits but probably needed those anyways for your hivers because hivers are too useful not to have, even if you have to hide them in the proverbial basement from the holy nation.

if you have a human male with any race besides skeletons the holy nation doesn't actually give a damn. Just don't let them go off on their own, the holy nation might allow your "slaves" in their borders but only when they are with their master.

I have only ever had 1 hive soldier die of a head wound and it was from a friendly fire harpoon and they had like a 1 in all stats, and honestly give soldiers = best

Fun fact. Scorchlanders eat less and heal faster. On TOP of being better fighters and better smiths and better ninjas and eating raw. MVPs. Hive soldiers kick ass early game. Fast, toughness bonus, attack bonus, double head hp, low hunger. They really fall off later but it's worth it. My go-to strat is to have one (preferably hive prince) sneak medic for every major battle. Losing one mediocre fighter to have a dedicated quick heal response and even picking someone up before a slaver or cannibal does? Absolutely amazing trade. Even if he goes down, patching up a few guys first saves lives!

Additional subjectiveness: I've been playing this game off and on for years, and I've come to absolutely loathe the Shek, their lore, and especially their dialog package. "Singing bad, smack thing gud! Me subhuman, must die to religious nut for my religious beleafs! For Krampus!!!1 Me dour and emotionally fragile, would be worse than Okran weirdo if not for big booba in Admag." I use them as general laborers, sacrificial stooges to save real people, and gate guards while running with Ells and Horse (because they don't have that annoying dialog package). I agree on the Hivers, humans, and finding a P4 unit early game is like finding gold. Good channel btw, keep up the good work.

Personal preferences Greenlanders: Cooks, Science, Farmers, Combat Medics Scorchlanders: Combat regulars, marksmen, and base gunners Shek: Combat heavies and martial artists Hive Prince: Commanders, Scout Medics, and Science Hive Workers: Farmers, Mine operators, Base Engineers and gunners Hive Soldier: Internal base guards and combat animal escorts Skeleton: Science, Robotics, Gate Guards, and Base Gunners

@@MedievalFantasyTV Hive Princes have higher run speed caps compared to Human Greenlander both regular and augmented. With strength training, they can tend to the wounded and learn healing faster if by unfortunate circumstances your units are scattered or separated, and pick them up if imminent threats are present. They also have faster Stealth learning that can be buffed with cybernetics and clothing. Which is why I distinguish specific medics that carry the advanced first aid kits while everyone else use bandages or regular first aid to tend to the wounded in a pinch, then further separate for healers who can put up a decent fight to stay alive, and healers that either supoorts with ranged fire, or maintaining concealment until combat ceases. Greenlanders can be better armored over Hivers, but at times I also have them distinguish themselves from Scorchlanders who wield dexterity leaning weapons.

Scorchlanders ftw. Fast healing ftw. And heads up Scorchlanders are loved by the HN as much as Greenlanders :) Soldiers chest hit chances is a big weakness... And they stink at defense training sadly. Never compare a Hive Prince to a Scorchlander. Thems fighting words. Sheks are the "best" organic humanoid race however they level combat pretty dang slow so they are rough. Skeletons opinion is very well put.
