Thanks for joining us on this trip. Without guests like you, this lifestyle has been impossible!!! 😃 I can really understand that it must be hard to come back to a ’normal life’ after some days on the trails with the huskies. That’s the reason why I’m doing this as my daily life. 😃 Take care and I hope I’ll see both of you in the future! /Matti

I’m not always full of energy. Last night (out on tour again) I got headache and was tired. I didn’t sleep well the night before and I wasn’t drinking enough. But I got energy from doing what I love to do. :-) I so very often stop up and feel very great full of my life… That’s also gives energy. …and remember that I edit the videos by myself. 🤣 /Matti

Hej Matti, I love to watch your videos, Last year in march I did a long dogsledding tour with you and your dogs and it was absolut amazing. Next year I will do a tour with you and the dogs again, l'm looking forward to it. I love to do things myself and your dogs are such good sleddingdogs and so lovely, I loved my dogteam so much. I am travelling now for three months in my husbil in Sweden, and next week I will arrive in Jokkmokk. Vi ses, Martine

Skulle vara intressant att se en jämförelse av modern tält med kamin och ett militärtält med kamin som ganska många har erfarenhet av.
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA10 күн бұрын
Det är en jättebra idé!!! Super tack. Det får bli efter min vintersäsong. Det är ganska likvärdigt. Däremot är dagens tält lite snabbare/enklare att få upp och de väger mindre. En nackdel med militär tälten är att de släpper inte ut ljus utan de blir väldigt mörka! /Matti

Liked the vid very much. Some moderate weather is nice for clients who may have never experienced anything like it. The could get fooled on the next one with minus 40. You never know north of the Circle what it could turn out to be. Like to do that too. Gitty up doggies. All good Matti. From mildly cold and snowy east Kentucky USA Next time

Hello, you always have the novice in your thoughts with great advice and tips. It really hit home, when you were travelling that vast freezing wilderness, and darkness much how lonely it can feel at times. Think your lifestyle will disappear to replace with snow mobile tourists, travelling not far around popular trails and back to the comfort of the hotel with 3 corse meals anytime soon ? Whats your take on that ? Wishing you and yours health, success to continue your peaceful lifestyle.
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA12 күн бұрын
Thanks! In one way you have the same thought as me but at the same time not… I totally agree. The way we are doing this will disappear because of two reasons. 1. No one will work like this with up to 150 days in a year on overnight trips. 2. The guests will not be fit enough to make this real tours. But I think that they still will make dogsled tours but only 30 min or maximum 2 hours… /Matti

Many also appreciate your kind heart, sharing your well earned knowledge to others free, to be safe. il never forget the video you made of the the knowledge needed just to get a car started in winter, that shocked me a little. Hey, i like your videos. I learn alot. Im going on a 14 days trip with my 6 dogs, and because we have little snow and mild temp, in norway. Im tinking about jokkmokk/sarek. I wonder if you have any tips for a route through the forest and a good gateway to Sarek. with dog sled. how are the snow conditions now? maybe I can follow the royal trail for a bit. etc. Emil

Are your Gang lines poly or cable? No straw or boughs for the dogs? I am always surprised by how clear your forest is. Thanks for the video.
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA11 күн бұрын
The gang line is made of iron cable that’s covered with rope. Straw is really good but we don’t have it. We can’t leave it in the nature. Now I start thinking about dry grass. It disappears faster than straw. We use dog jackets when it’s colder. /Matti
@mushercdn11 күн бұрын
@@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA I've used fir tree branches, but straw is better. If you can use dry grass, you might be able to use hay. That works well, too. I already used cable covered in plastic but I stopped. The plastic held in the water and the cable rusted from the inside out. Runaway team on the start! I just use bare cable now. -25 C. with a stiff wind today. We'll be running dogs and tapping trail with the snow mobile in an hour or so.

Hej hej Matti and Stina, thank you for your videos, it is a great entertainment for us while we are eating a lunch or diner. We know Sweden quite well because we worked couple months down south in Linkoping. But we never traveled more north than Ostersund. Our wish is to go more north and have fika with you and Stina one day. We love Scandinavia and the nature there. Thats why we spent in total 3 months (not in a row) traveling trough Sweden and Norway in our small camper van. We are always happy to return. For a nature and camping lover it is a paradise. I really hope that we meet you one day. Maybe this April. Do you take volunteers for some help ? We have a tip for a new video which you can make. It might be interesting to film how the dog sleds works (break, steering, whatever) Some technical part of driving a dog team. How much time it take to dress a team. What is a control over them. If it is just a training, so they realy STOP. Or you have some hidden trick. How the sled is heavy, what weight can pull your dogs, stuff like this :-) I don't know if somebody would like video like that. But maybe it would be helpful for a guest who want to visite you. I would like it a lot because I worked on a horse ranch in Canada, Rocky mountains as a horse teamster, driving a wagon. But I have no big experience with dogs. Thank you for your effort. Take care and good luck in life Matej and Lenka greetings from Czech Republic

Hello! It’s exactly how we also use KZbin. A video while having breakfast. 😃 Östersund… That’s where I am from. 70km west of Östersund. It’s a great idea for a video. The reason why we have hesitated is because it’s a very narrow niche. I agree totally with you. It’s probably really interesting for our guests. I have to make that kind of video… Thanks for input!!! Take care! /Matti in Jokkmokk

When using a stove in the tent and with several people in there, do you usually have a CO(carbonmonoxide)-alarm device? I'm always a little anxious when using a heat source in my tent because of all the stories I've heard about people dying. Even after some decades of camping I have this in my mind. So I usually have ventiles open completely, but then it doesn't get so warm inside.
@warrenstanford724011 күн бұрын
I use a Tentipi tent which uses Polycotton fabric which is breathable but has vents for air supply to stove, always use a CO monitor.👍
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA9 күн бұрын

It's only a fail if you go nowhere! Didn't look all that warm to me, but we've only had on day of snow so far this year 😥 Q. outer layering: is that like you' do with sleeping bags, with the Rab and the ME jackets, ie synthetic down (ME) over natural down (Rab)?
@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA11 күн бұрын
That’s true! Going nowhere is a failure! 😃 To answer your question… That’s exactly why I got two jackets! It’s also easier to moderate the layers when I’m working, have to run long uphill or staying still while crossing big lakes etc. /Matti
