Hot Tent Winter Camping In Heavy Snow

In this video I went hot tent winter camping in heavy snow. My favorite time to go hot tent winter camping is when it is snowing outside and this trip did not disappoint! It began snowing shortly after I found my camp site. I got a late start around noon so daylight was limited. It was 26°F (-3°C) during the day but that night temperatures rose to 32°F (0°C). I barely finished gathering firewood before it got completely dark. By the time I got back to the tent with firewood it was snowing very hard! I tried out my new Pomoly Bromance 70 hot tent and the new Pomoly Dweller Max wood stove. Both worked great! I also used two wood stoves at the same time which was a first for me. However, it was not nearly cold enough outside for two stoves and the temperature inside was 104°F (40°C) with the stoves turned on low! I had a great time on this trip and I hope you enjoy watching!

That was an amazing setup and a first time seeing 2 stoves in one shelter but waaayyyyy too much work for a one nighter in my opinion . This is more of a base camp for multi days use, like for hunting, ice fishing , ... I can imagine all the work still to do at home cleaning and drying gear , you are a very resilient man. Hello, and thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I got a late start on this trip and had maybe 4 hours of daylight. I was chopping down those last trees by the light of my headlamp 😅 It was way to warm outside to use two stoves but since I went through the effort to bring this tent I just had to use two stoves! It was unbearably hot even when they were on low. 104 F (40 C) in the middle of the tent. It must have been at least 125 F (52 C) at the top! This tent would work great in very cold temperatures.

@@HikeCampClimb the teepee tents are really nice! they look like they have a lot of room inside. thank you for the info on the stoves. I had never seen two stoves used in a tent before. I can see though, if it gets really cold it'd be nice to use two. Every time I watch your videos I miss camping. live close to local mountains. just haven't found the time to get up there. 😊

Thank you for watching! All the trees in this forest are evergreens. I can't tell you exactly what type of tree but I'm assuming these were some type of pine. The wood does look yellowish though!

Just curious why the two stoves? Maybe comparing or for extra warmth. I have a large 8 person hot tent (but realistically 3 or 4 comfortably) and with the one stove it is a sweat lodge. Lol. Nice video and thank you. I love camping in winter and snow.
