You brought up a great point! These one-shot volumizers definitely have a lifespan. I just wonder how long that lifespan is and what good is one of these after the bristles are worn out?
@ElevateBeautyCo5 жыл бұрын
The bristle "caps" on my Revlon have begun to fall off, just like they do on normal hair brushes. This could be the reason the Hot Tools came out a bit smoother. Also the bristles themselves are no longer aligned perfectly which probably affects the final look. _BTW: My Revlon is just over 10 months old & I use it nearly everyday._

The lifespan on my Revlon was 10 months, the bristles and pins fell out when I was drying my hair. The only good thing about this is that it happened right before Black Friday and I was able to purchase HT version for around $40. I like the HT version better and so does my hair stylist. My hair is a lot smoother and has more body. Another plus is that it doesn't get really hot like the Revlon. If your Revlon does break contact their customer service. I emailed them photos of my dryer and they sent me a replacement right away, less than 2 weeks. Helen Of Troy makes both of these tools, very interesting that the quality is so different between the 2.

Thanks for watching, happy I was able to provide you with some useful information! The only real differences between the 2 volumizers were.... 1.) Cord Lengths: Revlon 6' & Hot Tools 9' 2.) Hot Tools use of Infused Charcoal. 3.) Revlon's 4 color choices. These differences may be enough to encourage you to buy one over the other. _I felt the durability of both of them is identical since they are essential the same components._

I have medium thick wavy hair that is about 2 feet long and can do a full blowout in less than 20 minutes versus an hour with a flat iron. I personally think the Revlon side looks better, more shape and volume but that is just from what I would look for immediately after a blowout.

The handle feels strange at first, but it allows for easier curling since the bigger handle allows your wrist to move less and curl more, hard to explain, but handle diameter is usually a factor in wrist fatigue.

What are the plates made out of on the hot tools one? Also, which hot tools one step styler was this? Hot Tools is the worst with easily highlighting the differences between their products so I'm constantly doing deep detective work to understand how each differs from the other lol
@ElevateBeautyCo4 жыл бұрын
They have since updated the models i used in this video; however, they are mostly the same. The primary difference is still the Hot Tools has the longer cord and infused charcoal to cut down on frizz. The gold version of the Hot Tools has better surface wear and some people prefer the Gold for aesthetics reasons. As for the actual barrel composition, I am not sure, sorry.

I have a hot tools brush that’s more than 2 years old and which I love. I recently used my friend’s brand new revlon one and somehow didn’t like it at all- it became wayyy too hot, I think I smelled singed hair, it was not as as easy to wield and the end result was also not that great. For me hot tools was definitely much much better.
@alouise35572 жыл бұрын
Yes, it torched my fine hair around my hairline. Literally burned it off. And when I didn't clean it out often enough and there was hair wrapped around the thing, it burned the hair. I saw literal burnt hair in it. The bristles are also shot after less than a year of use. The side bristles are in fact, gone. They break off. Revlon is garbage.

I don’t use my Revlon one step hair dryer for that reason - the heat! It is too hot and damaging to my hair.
@ElevateBeautyCo5 жыл бұрын
The Revlon does get hot, without a heat shield I am not sure I could use it as often as I do. The Hot Tools does seem to be a bit cooler.

Is one tool noisier than the other?

Thanks for watching! I haven't noticed much of a difference in the sound volume. _They are both products from same manufacturer and nearly identical minus the cord length and infused carbon of the Hot Tools._

The side of your hair using the Hot Tools looks better! Thank you! :-)

I have both and felt like the hot tools dried out/damaged my hair vs the revlon - wondering if anyone else has experienced this with this hot tools dryer?
@ElevateBeautyCo5 жыл бұрын
I haven't had that problem, but perhaps others do! I love my hair care system for keeping my hair damage-free!

Could you do a comparison on all 3 Revlon, Drybar, and Hot Tools? Please!! 🙏🏼
@ElevateBeautyCo5 жыл бұрын
Well now that I have all 3 maybe that should be my next video? _To be honest I felt the 2 are identical. My Revlon has more use and is about 1 year old now, so that may be why the Hot Tools seemed to do a better job._ Some of my thoughts... ✔️ The important thing to keep in mind is they are both products from brands owned by the same parent company "Helen of Troy" ✔️ If I had to call it they are identical despite the Hot Tools being infused with activated charcoal. The wear on my Revlon's bristles from a year of use is a factor. ✔️ As for the Drybar - to be candid I was not happy with the results. There was something off about the bristles and possibly the way the venting works with the heat. ✔️ The Drybar left my ends frizzy and required I go back and "fix" them with my Revlon. _The choice for me is really between the Hot Tools and the Revlon and they are in fact identical in almost every way!_

Hot Tools is in the process of buying Drybar’s tool and product rights.

How about loudness? I love the Revlon one but always have ringing in my ears from how loud it is. I know it’s definitely hurting my ears :(
@ElevateBeautyCo5 жыл бұрын
They are loud but maybe my ears are used to it because of my kids. LOL!

I heard both are loud. I have got the One step blow dryer and volumeriser. I have in-between straight hair, if that makes sense, mixture of fine to course hair. I used it 1st last week and was pleasantly surprised, I didn't lose too much hair!!!. It does the job, on towel dried hair somewhat.

Hi guys. There's product build up (from heat protectant cremes on my hair) on my revlon bristles. Any idea how to clean it?

Rubbing alcohol... just my opinion but it’s what I use

Hello like you review do they both spin and have you reviewed to actual while straightening and drying. Also how do they compare to the dry bar brand thank you
@ElevateBeautyCo4 жыл бұрын
They do not spin and I prefer the Revlon overall. The Dry Bar left my hair frizzy and somewhat flat.

Since this video there has been so many new volumizers and updates to older models. I think I need to do a new version of the top models at this point. _I still use my Revlon, but I always use the L'ange Heat Shield with all my heated tools, maybe that helps in my case?_ Thanks for watching!

I bought the same dryer at wish for 14 swiss franc money🇨🇭

Wow that sounds like a great deal! I personally love Amazon's return policy for it's a matter of peace of mind for me. If you're on a budget, wish has some great deals... however, it can also be a little risky since it's not the brand name product you're getting. Would love to hear how the one from wish has performed!
