Tony was gonna buy it then saw all the problems for such an expensive Mk2, but after seeing your video, you brightened my day. Heck main problems were with the wheels as one would try to prop them into hover mode. Your bracing technique is so helpful on how to strengthen the struts area. I rechanged my mind, and will purchase the new DeLorean ver 2. Bro thank you. By the way, I also have some 1:18 WW II planes like you.

I still remember as a kid building the plastic Back to the Future 2 model. The wheel flight plastic mechanisms were so flimsy. It wasn't impossible but man you had to be very gentle and still occasionally a wheel would fall out. When I had mine all together. I actually brought it to school and showed my science teacher. I think he was genuinely impressed. 🙂

I totally agree. I was very disappointed to hear about of all of the problems everyone was having. Even though I had no issues 🤞 I can imagine how upsetting it was to wait for this to come out and then it arrives busted! I'm sort of a preventative maintenance kind of guy so I wanted to resolve this just in case. Take care.

Great video, looks like your LED’s in your rear drivers side wheels are dimmer. It’s another known issue.

When I reviewed the video, I thought the same thing. It's because it was sunny that day. When I brought it back in the house. It was bright as the front tires. All is good. There seems to be a bit more over spray on the rear tires as well.

Thank you. The shirt and pants were both from Ebay. The pants were from Easy simple mercenary set and the shirt was just a 1/6 scale yellow pattern Hawaiian shirt as close to the one in the movie as possible.

You are going to be so excited when you finally get yours. Some people are receiving theirs so hopefully yours will be here soon! Suggestion, try to back out the screws before moving the tires in the down position to relieve pressure on the mechanism just to be on the safe side. Some will say that you shouldn't have to do this on such an expensive model (I agree) but play it safe. Take care.

Tony!......Do you have the "DeLorean Mark 1?" Some years ago I had some "Hover Conversion 3D wheels printed". These work like a charm! I was thinking about ordering this "Mark 2 version", but decided that I'm going to stay with the 1st version, since I have the "Mr. Fusion/lighting rod... (custom made by me/pretty darn screen accurate I might say...lol) and the custom made by me Mr. Fusion base plate. And the fact that these wheels are lighted on these wheels. DanOby2 hooked me up with this guy in New Jersey...his name was Tom I believe. He did a FANTASTIC JOB on these 3D printed hover wheels. Now my dash board does not light up, but no real big issue with that. I have 3D printed "rail road rims" too, that Tom printed for me....AWESOME LOOKING RIMS!!!! DanOby2 has videos of these 3D printed parts...check them vids out! Really interesting vids! So my "Mark 1 DeLorean"....the way I have it set up, is that you can make the Time Machine from either the BTTF 1/BTTF2, or the 3rd movie! By the way.....LOVED THE VIDEO YOU MADE! Very informative! I enjoyed your video. I hope I don't have to go this far, but I've been asking around because my Delorean has issues too, but something different. I got my Delorean without any cracks to the hover conversion joints; however, the bolt securing the conversion apparatus to the axle on the front right wheel was separated out of the box. I have no idea how to fix it, and I was wondering if you had any ideas. Looking at your video, I see the bolt I'm talking about. When viewing your Delorean from the driver side, the bolt is in front of the hover conversion joint and further in. I can show you some pictures. My only option from Sideshow is return for refund or get a $70 credit. They will not exchange it. I was curious if you had any ideas. Thanks.

Hello Brother. What time stamp in the video shows the bolt you mentioned? I'll try to help when I see it. I heard that Sideshow doesn't have any Deloreans left in stock to exchange it. That blows but you won't risk getting another broken one! I'll do my best to help you find a solution when I see what area you mean.

@@2NDCBT Hello again. Thanks so much for the assist. It is hard to describe, and I think I am probably using the wrong terminology (ie : is it a screw, a bolt, a whatever) Anyway, the bolt I'm talking about can best be viewed in your video starting at 1:20 and going through 1:27. It is the screw in the upper left corner of the screen, further in the wheel well, above the tire, and just to the left of the hover conversion clamps. It is partially shrouded in shadow in your video as it is further in. I believe it is connecting the wheel assembly to the front axle. On my Delorean, it is the right side that has the loose bolt, but I notice both sides are mirror images. I could not find this bolt in the rear wheels, and looking at the mechanism, it seems to allow the limited right/left movement of the front wheels. I ran out of time with Sideshow, so I opted to keep this broken piece for a $70 credit. So, repair is my only choice at this point. I hope it is as simple as finding the correct nut or washer to secure the screw in place. It seems a lot of pieces came loose on these Deloreans due to poor packaging, but I could not find any loose nuts or washers in the box. I'm just hoping it is not some proprietary snap-in piece of plastic that will be impossible to find at Home Depot. Thanks again.

@@erikmagnuson4499 Got it! It's the screw on the turning mechanism deep on left hand side of the hover assembly. Ok, if it was me, I would turn the wheel slightly to make for more room to work, then try to screw back in the hole using a small 'L' turn ratchet screwdriver. (They have those at Home Depot, just ask) If the mechanism isn't broken and the threads are stripped then try to use a slightly larger self-tapping screw. OR, if you are the mechanical type. I would turn the car upside down on a soft towel and drill a small hole through that whole assembly and secure it with a small screw and a small lock nut. Man, I hope this was some help! I don't want you to ruin your car, but this is how I would approach the problem. Take car brother.

@@2NDCBT I was able to easily pass the screw through the hole without any tools. This would indicate to me that the threads are stripped. While in place, the mechanism works properly, and the screw will stay in place for a while, but eventually works itself out, so yes, I will need to figure out a way to secure it somehow. I will work through your suggestions this weekend, and we'll see how it goes. The worst case scenario, I suppose, is that I display it in hover mode all the time as when there is no weight on the wheel, everything stays in place. I appreciate your help. Thanks again, brother.

Great work and effort but at the end of the day, you still should not have to spend YOUR time and energy jerry rigging something that cost 1K plus. Look, I totally get it if your in love with this I.P., and most will never ever let this go from their collection, but I have to agree with John ( The every day collector) that if you keep accepting a sub par effort from a manufacturer (Hot Toys) because you really want this item, then that gives them the green light to continue to cut corners and make sub quality items but who cares, the community wants this, they don’t care and they will fix it.

I read you loud and clear! Believe me. If I had an issue I probably would. but I was hearing that some Cat's were receiving replacements with issues as well. I don't know. I guess I was problem solving if this happened to me. But yeah. For the price point! Yeah. that kinda sucked!
