Hot Toys vs Real DeLorean

This is a review of how the Hot Toys Back to the Future 2, 1/6th scale DeLorean stacks up to a Real DeLorean. There are a lot of details that are correct on the model, however the intent of this video is to focus on the differences.
I forgot to mention in the video so I'll mention it here that the overall dimensions of the Hot Toys car (length, width, and height) are accurate to being 1/6th scale of the actual car, just wanted to be sure to state that. Thanks for watching!

Really great video, pointing out those differences. I’m still eagerly awaiting my Hot Toys DeLorean Time Machine. 🤩 And… in case you missed it: have you seen TOMY’s Kickstarter 1/10th scale DeLorean Time Machine, that is now live? Great video on comparing a real DeLorean and the Hot Toys BTTF 2 version . Are you going to do a comparison video between a real one and the Fanhome (formerly Eaglemoss) version? I recently started building the Fanhome BTTF DeLorean.

Thanks! Yes that is planned for an upcoming video. I recently got the fanhome/Eaglemoss delorean and it is very accurate to the car. Will be difficult to nitpick that one!

@@DeLoreanCorner-vl9ub You’re welcome! The Flux Capacitor and Xmas Tree supplied with the part work build are inaccurate to the one on the full sized car. There is a third party Flux and Tree that are accurate.

The reason there are differences is that the bttf delorean is an 81 not an 82😊

This has to do with Chinese culture. On one hand, they strive to replicate things as accurately as possible, but they always feel the need to tweak them according to their own perspective. That's why you see blue LEDs instead of halogen headlights or larger wheels. The same applies to bttf hot toys figures; for example, the dog looks quite different from reality, and the Marty McFly figure has an Asian touch to the face. They are capable of precision if they choose to, but it's not always in their interest.
