Thanks, John! I can assure you he's very close to the Robocop 2 colors. He's not that blue and purple in the first film. Actually I'll be painting a Robo1 in a few days and will do a side by side comparison in the next video ;)

These are the RoboCop 2 color scheme buddy without a doubt, original movie did not have this much blue and purple in the suit. Only the helmet had a little more blue and purple but not the whole body

I actually find this version more accurate to the movies of the 80's to 90's. it actually looks more like the movie rendition as the straight chromium silver wasn't doing it justice. So good job.

BEAUTIFUL job. I think the repaint matches the jaw piece, mid section and forearms much better. I say that because in Robo 2, those pieces became glossy shiney black with this exact color scheme. In Robo 1, those black bits were more flat and muted with the silver color. So...this is definitely Robo from 2. Excellent job, sir...

I know this video is several years old but, incredible paint work! I'm a veteran model maker myself and, I've always loved the "rainbow" titanium oxidation look from Robocop 2. I have an old 1/4 scale soft vinyl kit by Horizon Hobbies that I airbrushed in this effect. You did a great job on this Hot Toys figure (I'm too scared to do this to mine...ha ha ha).

Just rewatched Robocop (1987) in the new 4k edition. I had seen the film in the theater back when it was first released. I was actually surprised how pearlescent the armor pieces were in it! I think your paint job adds more depth and intrigue to the statue. Well done!

Even though this is based off of RoboCop 2, this is still more accurate to the colors in the original movie as compared to what Hot Toys had to give. He was never silver, at all. Outstanding job dude.

Thanks, brother. There were just a couple of people hating really vs dozens who loved it. But I could see where this might be going so I figure I might explain. I was being honest though, didn't do that to prove Hot Toys wrong, just to be happier with MY figure. If there's one thing I've noticed with collectors, they tend not to like it too much when you take something they love and spent good money on and improve on it and show them why it wasn't that "perfect" in the first place. That's what bugged me a bit, people calling that figure "perfection". It certainly isn't, not even with my paintjob lol But overall people have been super nice it's basically the repaint that got me the most likes on facebook by faaar lol The irony is the most complex pieces I've worked on got very little attention compared to it haha. That said the figure community is much stronger in numbers than us statue collectors.

Yours is much better than the original one , I don't know why they made him whit that much silver , a little bit of purple and non blue ( he steal is very cool ) as long as I remember he had a lot of blue and just a little bit of silver !

You've done a beautiful job your clearly a talented painter and there is absolutely no need to justify why you did it, personally I think it needed to be done I have both versions because the sculpts are amazing my only gripe is the colour I think Hot Toys were a tad conservative just a tiny splash more purple and blue would have been perfection 😁 bottom line I'm just happy to have them in my collection 😊 thanks for the upload stay safe 😎

By your work, Hot Toys Robocop get the true precense same as in the movie... Hot toy original was really good but it hasn't Robocop's Unique beautifulness of Light and color .. Your work gave the breathe to the sculpture .

It looks great. I always liked the color from Robocop 2 better though I feel the body proportions are different and looked better back in Robocop 1. Also, despite the figure is very accurate in shape I think the original color is way off. In Robocop 1 the color was a dirty silver, almost like tin or foil. Hot toys made it a too shiny silver like in Robocop 3.

Even Robocop 1 isn't colored shiny silver as metal. he also had purple and blue colors maybe not so intense as the Robocop 2 but they were visible. the paint app from Hot Toys was inaccurate even for Robocop 1 don't listen to Hot Toys purists most of them doesn't saw the remastered blu rays.

The standard Hot Toys finish is a solid representation of the original - *in 1/6 scale*, the highlights are toned down as per the scale requirements. And considering the suit would vary in the film; sometimes it was almost completely silver, Hot Toys chose a happy medium. Anyway, your Robocop 2 turned out gorgeous, at first glance it looks too heavy handed, but this is virtually screen accurate, they kinda went for a burnt exhaust look in the second film.

I say your take is more accurate because the original figure has shinny black parts, when the color schemes Hot Toys used was the classic color in which the black parts are more matte, not shiny at all.

how many color hues have you used on this? apparently there were no less than 11 color tints on the original costume from r. cop 1 well done for being able to paint something that's only 1/6 scale I never liked the blue of the 2nd film, just as I didn't like the repeat slow paced plotting of it . The suite is always changing depeding on lighting etcthroughout the original film. whats your opinion of a bronze colored R. cop? would you consider this trophy type color
