The last time I saw Stan Lee was in Cleveland, back in 1988. We were discussing who would make a good Iron Man if a film was made. Stan suggested himself. I said maybe Tom Selleck. Neither one of us thought Robert Downing Jr. would get the part twenty years later.

Stan Lee is the best! Not only did he co-create some of the greatest characters EVER, but (forgive my for indulging here) he signed over three hundred autographs in a row for the two and a half hours I waited in line to see him and when I finally got up there, he still smiled, shook my hand, signed my comic, and not only indulged my obvious fan boy freak out by smiling, but kept a friendly demeanor the whole time and still continued to sign hundreds of autographs after I left. Most famous people, by that time, are probalby kind of pissed and tired and just sign whatever it is you have and move on. Some younger stars just up and freaking quit, but Stan is freaking 94 years old and signs hundreds of autographs with a smile and indulges every single fan that comes by. Holy Shit, what did we, as humans, do to deserve this guy? Anyways, sorry to ramble, I just really had to express how awesome Stan really is. And Shartimus, you yourself are equally awesome! Keep up the good work man! Your content is HELLA SICK!

I love Stan Lee as much as the next guy, but Stan didn't create as much as he takes credit for, really. He wasn't great at plots, he basically took ideas from his partners and cleaned them up a bit. He's like a translator. He's still a legend, but it sucks that he has taken most of the credit when his partners/friends have been betrayed by Marvel, and the average movie goer watching the Avengers has no idea who... Jack Kirby is, for example.
