I agree on the head sculpt. Angelina was about 46 when making eternals. There's a lot of makeup for the role. The sculp seems to match up well with all the promos pics i've seen. I think a lot of people have tomb raider or Mrs. smith engrained in their brains.

Thanks for another awesome review, Justin! She does look great I’d give the likeness an 8-8.5/10, also her accessories look visually attractive! Thena is actually one of few things I liked from the film because of Angelina Jolie’s fierce but graceful portrayal of her even though she had short screentime aside from the stunning cinematography and visuals. Anyways, it would be interesting to see you review Maleficent to see how she stacks up next to Thena considering that was an amazing figure despite it being released back in 2014 and imo they nailed her likeness from that film.

I just received this figure today, unfortunately I wasn’t careful and accidentally broke her right arm as I was bending the elbow. It depends how much I like the way that display looks. If it’s full and I don’t love the figures there anymore I make the hard choice to move them on in favour of new ones

i think Hot Toys aren't really sure about the market for Eternals yet, that's why they release 2 figure first to see how the market react for it, if it's good, than maybe they would release the complete set for the eternals, and i think Thena is the perfect one to start as she has a lot of weapons.

That's a catch 22. If collectors think they won't make the rest then they won't buy this and Gilgamesh which tells hot toys Eternals doesn't sell. Whereas if they showed a full line you may get people who would have skipped just 1 or 2

Hi Justin, great review! HT's seems to be going with single joint elbows quite a lot recently, especially with the female figures. However the quality headsculpts are masking the issue. I feel some figures are being rushed at the moment, not great considering the cost to the consumer.

I think I'm done with sixth scale. The things SH Figuarts, Mafex, Mezco, NECA, Super 7 and not to mention 3rd parties are doing these days is amazing for 1/12 scale. And!!! You can pose them without having to wory about ruining fabric.

Pretty obvious it's market related. Figures like Captain Marvel aren't selling and probably won't if they haven't done so. With the Funko ordeal that the company had to destroy them cause they were losing money in storing inventory that wouldn't sell, any manufacturer in their right mind will not overproduce unpopular characters let alone unpopular characters from an unpopular movie. You may not like it but that's the way the market and consumers work.

I liked the movie too. I do understand why they went with Angelina's character since they already have her head sculpt from Malificent but yeah, one of the more central characters would have been nice. I would think Emma Chan's Sersi would have been good choice to produce over Thena. I am hoping that another Eternals movie will be made and that we'll get to see the characters in more Marvel films. What is it about Hot Toys giving most female characters single joint elbows? We've never gotten an explanation for it have we?

I'm a little bit shocked that they would spend money on making eternal action figures. They could have just asked for pre-order in advance and they know how many too produce they could be worth a little bit more and they could save a boatload of money of unbox action figures. My local store there's a whole row of all the eternal no one's buying them. 😂

I agree Angelina would probably have been better as a lead actress for another hero film but I think the way they used her in Eternals was smart. Because she is such a mega action star she probably would've stolen the show if her character was at full strength. Making her vulnerable was a good decision.
