This is one of our most common fixes on hot tubs not heating in the winter. I would say our service techs do atleast 10 Flow errors a week!

I've got a new hot tub coming soon and I want to know if I can use no 6 awg wires on a 60 amp breaker for the run
@Poolelementary2 ай бұрын
6 gauge should be plenty big and anything bigger becomes a problem getting to fit the wire connections inside the tub

Why are my 3 dot error codes coming on randomly? Sometimes a day, sometimes 2 weeks. Is this a sign pressure switch is on the way out completely?
@Poolelementary Жыл бұрын
I would say yes it wouldn't hurt to change it out.

my hot tub has a heater with a pressure switch cable, but it goes to nowhere. is that an issue? sometimes the heater doesn heat. should i jump the switch cable?
@HotTubServices7 күн бұрын
If your tub is a hot springs with a heater that has a grey cable going into the back of it that can be stripped down and replace the switch separately, much cheaper than paying hundreds for a new heater but will mean draining and best to remove the heater so it will be easier to work on👍🏼

Can you bypass the computer and use one of these heaters in an above ground pool? What do we do with the cables that go to the computer if this can be done?

Those spa heaters absolutely do NOT have the heat transfer capacity for a full-size pool. They're specifically designed for the amount of water in most spa tubs. You will burn out the heating element in no time, because it simply cannot handle that load.

What if HTR flow loss? What should we do?
@dionh70Ай бұрын
HTR FLO FAIL is the exact problem he's talking about in this video, and it's probably the same component that has failed.

What irritates me, as a lifelong electronics repair tech, is that spa control packs have been around for decades, intended for moist/wet environments, yet the engineers that design them still cannot figure out how to locate components in such a way that one or two drops of water won't trash a $500-$1000 unit. THAT is sheer stupidity and/or laziness on the part of the engineers. Why aren't the boards coated with potting compound to waterproof them? None of the equipment manufacturers are willing to repair the packs, so access to components for repair/replacement isn't a factor, nor is cost, because potting the entire board is a negligible cost during the circuit board manufacturing process. It's bad design and bad manufacturing processes. My spa has a repeating flow sensor error, and my spa tech cannot figure it out, but as far as I can tell, he hasn't replaced the sensor yet. With that tiny inlet on the flow sensor unit itself, the smallest piece of debris may have gotten into the sensor and may be interfering with the function of the pressure plates, which would explain the intermittent nature of the error. Basic troubleshooting seems to be completely alien to my spa tech, who really doesn't seem to understand anything more complex than gluing pipes together.
