I had the original Hot Wheels cars back in 68. I discovered some had larger wheels/tires, so I put the bigger ones on the back of my Camaro, and the 36 Ford coupe. LOL! Now I'm doing that with real cars. Cool video.

7:00 mark. If the metal is Pewter or Zinc, you can probably heat it up enough with a soldering iron to bend them and keep the base intact.

Glueing new axles is ok also but I like to switch real riders around and if the axles are too short, it sucks cuz the axles are glued. That's why I like to make my own axles out of the brass string.

Edgar I use Finger Nail glue to attach bottoms. I use it to glue metal to metal. My Datsun 510 I glued the plastic wing on the metal body. That's how I do pipes. On my HotWheel blubird I painted those ugly rims black & gold.
