Both look great.🙂 I sincerely like how you are so understanding when your grandson messes up some of your cars, before you film them. 🙂 I know that the majority of your projects are for him, I just think that you are a good grandpa. Take care.

Awesome video, and both came out just jazzy! That pink does look nice, for pink. Can’t blame your grandson for good taste! Hehehehehe. I am a little bummed that the black paint didn’t turn out the way I think you imagined it would, but I can’t argue it paved the way for better. 🙂👍 Happy day!

Hi there great video. Boy I am loving the hot pink car. I have noticed that other Redline restorers don't use the glue on posts under the cars but what they do is drill out the posts and put in a .05mm screw and posts and paint the head to match the body colour. Thanks for the video. I am learning more and more about restoring Hotwheels.
@WheelsNThangs5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I normally use screws and use that in most of my videos. I'm not sure why they paint them, original Redlines did not have painted rivets.

A great couple of restorations. I woukd've loved to see one in the black . I think it would've been really smart. 👍...... Kids eh ..... mind you I think back to when I was a kid and the Matchbox cars l destroyed or lost bits too ..... l collect them now and being an adult, realising the value of these little cars even when customised 😊

The Hot Heap casting is based on the award winning hot rod, most recently owned by Gas Monkey Garage's Richard Rawlings, "Tognotti's 'T' "built by Don Tognotti. It's not just any old Model T bucket. If I recall right, it's the first hot rod car to use a Jaguar rear end, and first to chrome all those underside parts. It's a show car, perhaps a trailer queen, but either first or among the first built for that purpose. Certainly the standard for the earliest show cars to be judged against. I keep putting that story in public comments. Wished more people would remember Tognotti especially for his innovations and not his very sad life story's end.

I have an orange Heap that's still completely original and almost perfect. I've got some other red lines, that I've been seriously thinking about trying to restore myself. One is the Hood, one is the Sugar Caddy that has a broken window, if you notice on the casting the window is actually the whole roof on the thing, I wonder if they even make a replacement for it, and I've also got an enamel Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in of course silver enamel that I'd like to do. Recommendations?

I looked, and there is a new roof/windshield available for the Sugar Caddy

I want to say, "No, what voices...What makes you think there are voices?" Just to get you paranoid. Clearly there are voices. It sounded like a video was being played in the background, perhaps editing one while recording another. One the other could be TV or speakerphone conversation in the background. For the OCD crowd out there, feel free to play it over to figure it out by playing things over and over. I'll watch this video over when I restore a Hot Heap myself. Great Restorations!
